We had a fabulous time and learned so much. Making the noodles from scratch was great. Who would have thought you can get so much flavour from so few ingredients. Highly recommend taking one of the classes.

Yoshiko was so warm and welcoming.
Cooking with her in her home was such a treat at the end of my trip. The food was fresh, simple and yummy to eat after we prepared and cooked it together. Japanese tea, water and with a little plum wine.

Attended Hiro's soba making class with my partner and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

The class was conducted in a beautiful traditional Japanese house that was recently refurbished, making it really comfortable.

The class itself was interactive and enjoyable, and the teacher, Hiro, was experienced, patient and friendly!

After eating the soba we made, Hiro also taught us some basic calligraphy and we used it to make a meaningful souvenir!

    Would definitely recommend!

This has been one of the highlights on my Osaka trip. Yayo is super nice and fun. She is generous with time and you can see during the lesson that great attention to details has been given. I find that cooking Japanese food is particularly fun compared to other cousines. Great way to taste food at highest quality and learn about culture. Highly recommended.

This was a great activity and would highly recommend anyone interested in preparing Japanese food to give this a try! Yayo was patient and answered any questions I had asked. I made nigiri sushi as well as tamagoyaki served with taiyaki for dessert with shots of great tasting sake (both hot & cold) along with a locally crafted beer (Minoh Beer) – Weizen. I had gone in mid-July 2019 where it was very humid & in rainy season. The added accommodation of a creative ice pack vest helped a lot through the session as well. My only regret was not taking up Yayo’s offer of a rain coat at the end of the session as it had been raining pretty hard back then. Other than that, I had a wonderful, memorable time! Would enjoy going back in the future for a different meal to prepare. (No option to select a time before March 2020).

I did the street food cooking class with a friend. We were particularly keen on the menu - it was so cool to learn how to make a few different dishes at once. We LOVED it! Our host was so kind and fun, and really good at demonstrating and explaining the steps. She also took multiple photos for us throughout the class, and emailed them to us afterward. Learning to make udon from scratch was a total highlight. The food was delicious. Don't plan to eat before or after! You will be so full.

Yoko is awesome! My husband and I booked this for Christmas evening. Yoko shopped with us and was very patient with us as we (husband and I) squabbled in the supermarket about our differing food preferences. The evening was filled with preparing gyoza, okinamiyaki, and sukiyaki. Yoko taught us how to prepare each dish and we learned great techniques. Yoko is very knowledgeable and a true foodie! A must in this food haven!

Great experience! My friend and I have been living in Japan for a few years and even though we’ve been cooking with Japanese ingredients, we didn’t know all the varieties and the techniques to make traditional dishes. Fumi sensei (and her nephew Rei) are great. Fumi sensei is very patient (especially with me because I don’t have a lot of experience), kind, and a great teacher. We had a wonderful time and I would recommend it to everyone!

This was an excellent way to get more familiar with Japanese food and culture. Yasuka was an excellent and enthusiastic teacher. She not only explained how to make the food, she also discussed Japanese culture and how food fits in to it. The ingredients and steps are simple, making this easy to learn and do again at home. Thank you to Yasuka and Eat Osaka for a great time!

I would definitely recommend this class with the lovely Fumi! She showed us how to make 8 kinds of sushi (sashimi) and miso soup.
Fumi was kind and knowledgeable throughout the 2 hours. The food we made was tasty also. The cookery school was ideally located next to Dotonburi which meant it took no extra travel time away from our trip to Osaka.

  • Keiko is so heartwarming host. She also seems to be very enjoying this host activity with a strong passion.
She and her team, Ms. Miya and Miyako are so kind and considerate and welcoming guests like friends.
I really enjoyed this experience and food. Of course, food is very amazing, not only Okonomiyaki, they provided Onigiri, Miso soup, even snacks, and green tea! They teach and give me many opportunities to use my hand to cook. Thank you very much for a wonderful experience.
