This review is specifically for Nicholas. And my wife had a fantastic experience with Nicholas on the Fushimi Inari Hidden Hiking Tour. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the history and culture of the shrines.
The tour in itself, in my opinion, is worth the admission price. As someone who used to live in California, the hike reminded us of all the gorgeous trails we went to while we lived there. But a whole lot more! What makes this unbeaten path unique is the integrated culture you see. One of the things that we repeatedly mentioned in this tour was how visually striking the Tori gates were in nature.
But what elevates this tour even further is Nicholas's deep understanding of the culture. He was able to share the context, history, and back story of everything we see along the way.
