These days there is little my 12 year old son and 9 year old daughter agree on, but they both absolutely loved this - as did my husband and I! You dress up in some simple samurai gear, learn some basic preparation chants and then go into the training. The guide made the lessons and scoring really fun for the shuraken throwing and dart blowing, so it never got boring. Then we went into the VR part, which everyone found challenging and fun. Highly recommend!

Staff were very helpful and passionate about their jobs, helping to introduce the pigs to us and ensure that the pigs were not fighting with each other. Pigs super cute.

Pretty chill and laid back cat cafe. I can't say I go to many of these things, but so far it's been fun. The cats were mostly sleeping by the time I attended with a few active ones. They didn't really play much and the most active one was the most unplayful. He was a stinker and the owner said he's not yet domesticated.

Needless to say, it was a fun visit simply because of the experience of having a beverage and petting a few sleeping cats. As for the beverage it was in a fridge so there's no barista.

The options for visitations are generally 20/60/120 minutes per session. I spent about 20 and was pretty good.

Everything was so organized! Staff was friendly and accommodating. We bought snacks to give the cats and they climbed all over us, they were very food oriented haha. You get free drinks from the machine with your entry ticket and there is an option for aprons if you don't want to get fur on your clothes. It's October, so many of the cats were dressed in cute Halloween costumes! The cats are beautiful, very well taken care of, and they have a path to a room outside of the cafe to escape to if they feel overwhelmed, but there was always an abundance of them in the cafe area. Mangas and chargers were available as well as a little gaming area.

This was one of my favorite experiences in Japan. I looked at several maiko photo studios. After I saw the photos from this one, I didn’t even consider anything else. I chose the Oiran style because of the rich jewel tone colors and sophisticated composition. I found the staff to be very patient, friendly and helpful. I loved seeing my transformation throughout the afternoon. The photos turned out great and I’m going to have one enlarged and professionally framed as a gift for my family. I would highly recommend Kokoro Group Studio and may even do it again the next time I go to Japan. There are many styles to choose from and I think the price is reasonable. If you’re in Kyoto, it’s a must do!

I chose this studio because it was close to my hotel. It isn't easy to find if you don't know the city. The staff are professional and gracious. I left the selection of clothing up to them and was not disappointed. The young ladies who did my clothing and makeup were welcoming, talented and professional. The photographer who did the photo shoot didn't speak much English but was able to explain what he wanted by simple requests and hand signals. I received a disc with my photos and a proof sheet of all the photos. I didn't have a cell phone with me but the photographer took some extra shots after the session with my personal camera. Definitely a fun experience and friends were amazed at the photos.

Dressing a Kimono is an excellent experience by itself, but old people also like to be treated well & care in the store not only the young ones!

We didn’t visit the owls, but spent some time with the Bengal cats. You get thirty minutes with the cats, and a free drink is included with admission, although it’s only from a vending machine. Sitting with the cats is fun, they’ll often come and sit on your lap. They seem to be happy to get attention from people, during our visit all of the cats seemed relaxed and not at all stressed so it seems like they’re being treated well.
