My brother and I scheduled a half day private walking tour our first full day visiting Kyoto. Our guide was Miho - she was absolutely wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the area & did a great job fitting in many stops without making our day feel rushed. Throughout the day she also gave us tips on good restaurants to try, how to use the public transportation (subway & buses very popular), other sights that were must see & local shopping. It was the perfect way to start our time in Kyoto & her recommendations made the rest of our time there very enjoyable.

I had a fantastic time with my guide Taku! I got to see so many different parts of Kyoto throughout the tour. I'd especially recommend Taku if you are interested in Geiko (Geisha). I learned so much throughout the tour and was recommended so many cool spots. I didn't really have anywhere particular that I wanted to see going into the tour, but Taku took my limited input and planned out an amazing experience.

Worth the cost! We really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was knowledgeable, welcoming, and personable. The sites we visited were well balanced.

Really enjoyable experience. Daughter liked choosing kimono. Lovely garden and traditional house. Staff took photographs off us and explained about tea tradition.

We had an absolutely fantastic tour of Kyoto with Javier! He is very personable, knowledgeable, and excited to show us his city! This was our first time to Kyoto, and we were able to visit several highlights of the city in one day, including the Thousand Torii gates (Fushimi-inari shrine), the Silver Pavillion, and the Gion District. A walking tour with Javier is 100% the best way to see Kyoto. The trip is so much more personal, he shows you little secrets you'd never know were there, and he makes the tours feel like its being led by a friend. Cannot recommend enough!

Mom and two daughters (24 and 19) spent two 1/2 very entertaining hours being immersed in this experience. (My husband waited downstairs in a comfortable room with WiFi. He came up later and took pictures.).

The makeover starts with changing into a light robe, then it is off to makeup. You are completely coated in white foundation (all of your face, neck, chest, and upper back), then eyebrows and eye makeup. (Note that while I think you might be able to get them to use new brushes, that was not immediately offered. Best not to think about it too much and enjoy the experience 😏). A very heavy wig is added and the front portion of your hair wrapped around it and sprayed black more on cleaning below). Then it's off to choose your kimono, wrapper, and hair ornaments. The very professional photographer had you choose four poses and does a great job of eliciting stunning pictures. My husband also came into the studio and took pictures as well. We then had 10 minutes in a lovely covered garden for more pictures. It was raining there day we were there so we did not go out in the street but I gather you can usually do that, too.

Once you finish, they have sinks where you can wash off both the makeup and your hair. Blow-dryers and Combs are available.

The staff were all very friendly. Not a lot of English spoken but definitely enough to be understood. The package we bought included 4 poses each, printed out. For an additional $70, we got all of the digital pictures for all 3 of us on a USB stick.

It's a great way to have a unique feminine experience!! I highly recommend it.

Our tour with Japan Wonder Travel was excellent. We did the Kyoto Food Walking Tour in Nishiki Market and Gion with Fushimi Inari Shrine. Our tour guide Yasuna was very knowledgeable about all the food we had and the history of Japan(Her English was great). We were able to experience different foods we would have never tried on our own. Like Tofu Skin and Tofu Donuts. Delicious. The walk was pleasant but make sure to bring good shoes like they say. Pack bug spray if you plan on walking the whole Inari Shrine path. Bring extra Yen to purchase extra goodies during the tour. We really enjoyed being able to length and the direction our tour guide took us on. We were able to see other restaurants we would try another day. She also helped us figure our train route back to our hotel. We look forward to coming to Kyoto again and trying another tour.

A well organised tour that will give you a good insight into the beauty of this region. Tour guides really added to the experience providing insight into the locations visited and the occasional laugh. The buffet lunch provided was very tasty and overall the tour was good value for money. Thank you so much for such an enjoyable and memorable day.

We had a great day in Kyoto with Minako on 20.9.19.
We were a group of four oldies with minor mobility problems so we’re looking for a tour which would dovetail around our agilities!
We were so lucky to find Minako who designed our visit to suit us.
We docked at Osaka port and there was Minako waiting for us with a sparkling, large and very comfortable van.
We visited the Niho Castle and the Golden Temple. Minako also took us to visit a very interesting local market and a nearby temple. Then we had a very ethnic lunch in a local restaurant. Later we visited the Gion district. It really was a lovely area and very quiet in the day time. Each time we were ready to move on the van was there waiting for us!
At all times Minako, whilst being very efficient and organised, was constantly passing on information and told us lots of things about Japanese life. She tried to teach us to count in Japanese on the journey into Kyoto and we found that very entertaining. On the journey home she revealed her prowess at card tricks!
We were all so happy that we had chosen All Star and Minako and we cannot recommend her and her company highly enough.
Because of Typhoons our ship had to reroute several times and we are so glad that we didn’t have to miss out on Kyoto and Minako.

Meg was very friendly, has excellent knowledge about the places, is well organised, her English skills are good.
She managed to keep the interest on, even the circumstances were very demanding. Our tour took place on one of the hottest days ever in Japan. Meg showed us all the highlights, the must seen and provided all information and answered all questions in shady places, she integrated more stops to refresh, so we felt comfortable and relaxed without missing any highlight.
