The 3 hour foodtour was an amazing experience. Taisei, our excellent and knowledgeable tour guide lead us through the Nishiki market, pointed at outstanding shops and introduced us to Japanese and Kyoto food with additional info's on Japanese culture. He encouraged us to try new food, so I tasted e.g. flavored hot honey or new sorts of spice. If you are looking for interesting tour in good company, this is a clear recommendation.

Had the best time and was able to meet some new people. It was fifteen of us so ended up being a great night as we all ended up going clubbing afterwards. Even made some new friends from this and shoutout to our amazing tour guide (Kanna).

Amazing experience in historical Kyoto, meeting with a Maiko, seeing her perform, playing a game with her and learning about her life as a Maiko. We also had a wonderful Kaiseki meal in a traditional restaurant and a brief tour of the Gion area. Many thanks to Hikari, who guided and took care of us. Highly recommended tour for those seeking to meet a real Maiko or Geiko! *****

Guia is so warm and friendly and has immense knowledge of food history and culture. We had a great time walking the market stalls with her and talking about life in the different places we’ve lived. She took some great photos of us as well enjoying the food, and seemed to know all the vendors personally! We got pretty fantastic bites to try that was catered to each of my family members tastes and preferences. Overall, I’ve been on food tours on nearly every continent, and this one ranks as one of the best because of its diverse foods, cultural beauty, excellent conversations with our guide, and opportunity to buy a few extra things with her expertise. Book this, you won’t regret it.

Shinki was a wonderful good tour guide in Kyoto. It was a pleasure to be able to experience the the local food scene with him. We went to many different locations in and around the market. The tour was well planned and the food choices were delicious. Thank you Shinki!!

We had a wonderful evening with our guide Eduardo and learned a lot of interesting things about life and food in Kyoto. The food stops were awesome, more delicious food than we could eat. Most of the stops were places we would be too shy to go in as tourists or would not have thought about. Overall it was such a fun experience that we booked another tour with the same company in Osaka.

We had a wonderful time on the bar hopping tour with Shumpei. He was a fantastic host. If you ever come to Kyoto, please consider booking with him; he is friendly and lively. We visited three different bars, and it was interesting trying new foods and drinking sake. Highly recommend!

We had a great guide Mitch. It was a great combination of visiting a local cafe to taste local Kyoto food, followed by the food section of the departmental store and finally the market. These three different sections of the tour gave different food experiences. Our mistake was eating too much for breakfast as the cafe part was quite early on. It was a great way to spend a morning.

Our tour with Sae was amazing! Truly one of the highlights of our trips. We had a rainy day but still had a great tour. Sae was so knowledgeable on the area, the culture and the history of not just Kyoto but all of Japan. It was so cool to learn about all the nuances of the Geisha district and of Kyoto itself. Besides the cool walking portion, the Kaiseki dinner was amazing, and being talked through it and all the work that goes into it made us appreciate it even more. We learned a lot in the most fun way, Sae was the best guide we could ask for, so fun and kind and answered all our questions! On top of it all we were lucky enough to see some Geisha rushing past us at the end!
