Entrance is 6 rmb various buildings, often with beautiful old details. If you have time, it is interesting to see the temple. During my visit there was a ceremony, many reciting monks and their rituals. Near the temple are several shops and restaurants.

Located a far bit off the centre of Kunming, the Golden temple scenic area is a massive park. Once we reached, we walked up a fair bit of stairs. Then we arrive at a stop where we had the option of taking a coaster ride up to the main part of the park or walk. The coaster is 30rmb. it is convenient but fairly quick (the ride up isn't even 2 minutes). The golden temple is beautiful. There are a lot of gardens surrounding the area too and there's a Bell tower, that offers good views. The walk to the other part of the part goes through a very beautiful garden/forest.

Stayed at the Hump, a foreigner friendly hostels just above the square.
Daytime, the place is so so , feels poor. Even fake.
But nighttime, once the lightnings are on, looks fabulous
I recommend sitting on the Hump terrace and enjoying the historical site

This is a lovely park built on a mountain in the NE of Kunming. Flowers here bloom early, so it's a good place to come when the weather is still cool. I saw lots of cherry trees in bloom as well as some plum in late February. The camellias, Kunming's signature flower, are outstanding.

One can climb the pagoda and strike a good luck note on its large bell. Many of the temple buildings are made from bronze, which gives them a golden color and hence the name: 金殿。

One can ride a tobogan-type slide both up and back down for an extra 15 Yuan, or one can walk. Plenty of simple eating places inside as well as stands selling snacks and drinks.

Plan a couple of hours to explore. Admission was 30 Yuan. It is easy to reach by public bus; several lines go there including 69 and A1.

Many of the crowds seem to pass this temple by. This is a mistake. It is a lovely place to sit and be still for a while.

Laying outside of Kunning, visited the house of Zheng He, a Muslim of the Ming Dynasty who is a great emissary of that time. His muslim named was Mathatir which was not known by most of us.

A pretty well maintained historical place with a nice courtyard and garden.

A visit is recommended if you are travelling to the Southern part of Yunnan.

Sometimes some people think to build an artificial parks and open some shops in there and dress some people in ethnic clothes is what a traveller is looking for. My God, I choose to see Mickey Mouse in Disney Land
