- rmartinmitchBoston, MA666 contributionsWe had a chance to visit the Terracotta Warriors site and museum during a recent trip to Xian.
This is a spectacular site, and a must see for anyone visiting this region of China. The site is huge, with three main pits and with an associated museum. The three pits are in different states of excavation. The museum holds wonderful artifacts, including the Emperors' Chariot.
One issue to be aware of are the crowds, which be massive. We were told that the site has up to 65,000 visitors a day.
An amazing experience, unique in every way.Written December 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We drove around the wall while travelling towards the terracotta soldiers. I could see every brick very clearly. Rich with history. Honestly, if they lowered the price, I would surely climb it.Written November 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aviation CentralSydney, Australia188 contributionsHonestly, a lot more street food than I had expected!! Very enjoyable to eat for dinner. The prices were very cheap. Only problem is to watch for the floor as it can be quite dirty and littered.Written November 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - bcheongShanghai, China50,094 contributionsPart of the UNESCO Silk Road site, this big wild goose pagado was built 648 AD. Supposed to house the buddhist items that Xuanzhang brought back from India but i assume they have moved to a secret location. Hard to imagine the Journey to the west characters coming back to life in such a serene temple and garden environmentWritten October 15, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - carolinafzs dRio de Janeiro, RJ486 contributionsThe palace is beautiful and well preserved. This is an area of hot springs and you can have a bath (RMB295/person) or a feet bath (RMB50/person) while enjoying a cup of tea.
Please be sure to watch The Everlasting Sorrow show. It worths reading a bit about the Concubine Yang Guifei before the show, then you can understand it better. The show is amazing!!Written January 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. While in the main gallery, we saw loads of historical goods from China. The only thing that ruined our trip was the terrible attitude of the staff members.Written October 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christian MCopenhagen, Denmark6,223 contributionsYou might be among the 90% of travelers who are satisfied with taking nice photos of picturesque buildings from the outside. You don't need to wander around dusty rooms or know the entire history...
If so, head to Xi’an Bell Tower and Drum Tower, which are a few minutes apart, after dark.
Both structures are beautifully lit up and much more interesting to look at than during the day. Additionally, many Chinese girls dressed in historical costumes show up to take selfies - they are also fun to photograph.Written June 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ThaiCookingRocksChangchun, China828 contributionsThere is much more to see here than there is at the Bell Tower, but its worth doing them both as it helps you imagine being part of Xi'an as a time when drums and bells helped dictate the life of the city from waking up, to closing and opening of the city gates.
At the Bell Tower, the inside just had lots of text panels, and pictures. Here there are many drums and drum types both inside and out. There was also a group of musicians that performed about 4-5 minus worth of music about every 45 minutes or so, and they were very good.
This is also right at the opening of the Muslim Quarter for those who want to visit there as well.Written December 27, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This park is not only picturesque but also breathtaking. If you are looking for a get away time with fresh air and blue skies and calm waters then this is your cup of tea. The park also offers boat rides that provide more scenic views of the area. It's a big park and hence one could go on for a while before they'd hit an end, this makes it even better for people like me who enjoy long walks and trails. You can also catch a beautiful sunset while you are here. This park is definitely high on the list for places to visit. And it's not crowded.Written July 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Mark B2 contributionsThis show was simply stunning. The show is in Chinese, but you really don’t need to understand a word to be mesmerized. The visual effects are literally mind blowing, each one building bigger and more spectacular than the last. They did things I did not know were possible. The music was gripping, and the dancing was in a class of its own. The colors and the costumes were the most vibrant I have ever seen - and I’ve “done” Disney and all those usual things. An emotional roller-coaster I must admit to having a tear in my eye at the end. Breathtaking - if you visit Xi’an you simply must see this spectacle.Written May 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
