All the restaurant stops were local and authentic. Hidden gems that we wouldn’t have visited ourselves otherwise. Diehl was a lovely guide and catered well to our kids (ages 11 and 9) and us. She shared with us many stories about local school life which the kids found fascinating. We loved all the food - Biang Biang noodles, cumin skewers, sesame flatbread, sour plum juice, dumplings, rice noodles, eight treasure soup, and the gourd chicken. My only regret was eating too much Biang Biang noodles at the start (hard to stop) and was too full at the end to eat more of the chicken which was delicious. We had to skip the brewery at the end because my two kids were getting tired but it was still such a fun experience! The tuk tuk ride while drinking the local orange soda was also an added bonus for our kids.
