I’m glad to hear you had a wonderful experience at the Dar Al Madinah Museum! The museum provides a fascinating and insightful journey into the life of our beloved Prophet, offering visitors a deep understanding of his teachings, actions, and historical significance. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, providing valuable insights into the rich Islamic heritage.
One delightful aspect of the visit is the opportunity to taste the delicious dates offered at the museum. These sweet treats not only add a flavorful touch to the experience but also serve as a symbolic reminder of the region’s rich agricultural traditions. The combination of learning and savoring the delightful dates creates a memorable and immersive experience for visitors.
Overall, Dar Al Madinah Museum stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone interested in learning about the life of the Prophet and gaining a deeper understanding of Islamic history. The combination of informative exhibits and delightful culinary offerings makes it a truly enriching and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages.

They offer guides who speak Urdu and English as well as other languages so always ask.

In front of the mosque there is a parking area alternatively there is a good availability of spaces where to leave the car in the streets in front of the mosque. Unfortunately the location of the mosque among other buildings makes it difficult to take good photos of the structure in its entirety. This mosque owes its importance to being the place where the Prophet Muhammad received the command to change the direction of prayer from Jerusalem to Mecca. During the reconstruction of the mosque in the 20th century the old prayer niche facing Jerusalem was removed leaving in place only the old niche facing Mecca.

Saudi tourism authorities have done a good job of renovating and cleaning up sites of historical importance to Muslims. I visited this site nearly 12 years ago. Today this masjid and the area around Uhud has been cleaned up with requisite facilities for religious tourists. Perhaps a brief narrative in various languages of what transpired here should be posted here so tourists can refresh their memory and the young pilgrims can read and learn.

Jannat al-Baqīʿ (Arabic: ٱلْبَقِيْع, "The Baqi'") is the oldest and the first Islamic cemetery of Medina[1] in the Hejazi[2] region of present-day Saudi Arabia. It is located to the southeast of the Prophet's Mosque, which contains the graves of some of the Islamic prophet Muhammad's family and friends. It is also known as Baqīʿ al-Gharqad (Arabic: بَقِيْع الْغَرْقَد, meaning "Baqiʿ of the Boxthorn").[1]
The grounds hold much significance for Muslims, being the resting place of many of Muhammad's relatives and companions, thus marking it as one of the two holiest cemeteries in Islamic tradition. Many narrations relate Muhammad issuing a prayer every time he passed it।
