Nadia and Viktor were so helpful! They gave me very honest advice. I went to Olkhon Island in the "off season" and despite this, they managed to find me a local guide to take me on a day trip to see all there is to see on the Island in a 4x4 jeep of sorts. The guide, Vasily was awesome and super knowledgeable. They then arranged for transport back to Irkutsk by personally driving to the Island and picking me up the next day. They have great customer service and are very knowledgeable in what they do. Viktor even gave me a ride to the airport in Irkutsk. I would not use any other tour company!

I did a lot of research in trying to select a tour company that would be a more personal experience (ie. private tour vs. group tour). I communicated with Alex and appreciated how quickly he responded and the information was clear. My wife and I decided to book the day trip to Listvyanka, followed by the four day/three night adventure in Lake Baikal. Alex provided us with the most wonderful guide (Marina) who was always prompt, and we loved her knowledge, and positive energy. The tour to Listvyanka (including the outdoor Taltsy museum, dog sledding, gondola, lunch at the fish market, and walking on Lake Baikal - were all amazing)!

Our time spent at the frozen Lake Baikal was even more interesting. The ice caves, clear ice, and island adventures will be lasting memories that we will have for a lifetime.

If you want a more personalized experience (ie. no group tour given the COVID situation), Alex and Baikal Majestic should be your first (and only choice).

If you want your tour in English - then ask for Marina as your guide - she is absolutely wonderful.

PS - compared with the other quotes I received, Baikal Majestic was the "cheapest" and definitely the greatest value for money!

Great trip to see the Northern lights and explore the Kola Peninsula. Pavel was our guide and was excellent. I was with 2 friends and everyone enjoyed the trio.

Visited back in Oct 2012, Lake Baikal Diving Centre is an excellent place to practice your diving and swimming skills particularly if you're ready to endure the freezing lake's temperature. Many of the tourists from my tour group they without a doubt, leaped in the freezing late back in Oct 2012 when temperature reached as low as -10C! It was so funny to see chicks in bikinis and naked men))

We only had a couple of days in Listvyanka and we arranged with Tanya Oparina to meet and do a couple of shore dives from our Cabin at the campsite Deverenka. Tanya arrived promptly at 9am as arranged and after a short drive we arrived at the Iron Steps dive site. As we had come of the train we used the full equipment rental option and all of the gear was in good condition.
After a comprehensive briefing on the dive we had an excellent wall dive and saw lots of the Amphipoda, or freshwater shrimp that Lake Baikal is known for.
For the second dive we moved toward the Village of Listvyanka and dived on the old port. This too was a wall dive with the remains of the wooden port scattered over the wall face. There were also several grottoes and the remains of some cranes and huge wheels from the guns that would have been at the harbour.
Tanya gave both my son and I a great taste of diving in Baikal and one day we will hopefully be back to dive under the ice.

I recently used A-B Tours to help me with a trip across Lake Baikal on foot.

the gentleman that I worked with was called Eugene (Evgeny in Russian). He could not have been better.

He was helpful, kind, attentive, always willing and always available. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was outstanding. I recommend that no matter what trip you are planning in this region of Russia you seek him out and hire his services.

He was well priced and for the money you pay him you could not get better. He is fully bi-lingual, has a nice vehicle and was a real pleasure to be in contact with.

The Lake Baikal is so huge, so clear with blue sky. It is such an amazing lake. There are several tours offering cruise around the lake and it is worth to take a short cruise on this magnificent lake.
In winter this lake is frozen up to 2 meters of ice and trucks drive along it.
This is the best attraction in Irkutsk and if you have not visited this place, consider you have never been to Irkutsk.
