- 999LambGreenwood Village, CO38 contributionsWe really wanted to get a good feeling for St. Petersburg and did we ever get it with Best Guides! Andrey and Masha worked with us to put together a very specific tour for me and my family with maximum flexibility and quoted us a very fair price all-in.
But things got better when we met our guide, Inna. She spoke amazing English and is a really warm, caring woman who was very proud of her city. Over the course of 3 days, she took us to the see the sights (e.g. the Hermitage and Peter and Paul Fortress), but also showed us things a little off the beaten track. We learned about her family and a little about how the citizens of St. Petersburg live.
And aside from how well they took care of us, Andrey was incredibly honest, which shouldn't surprise me, but still did. The last day, we felt like just hanging around the hotel for an extra hour, so we started the day late. Andrey wrote to me, telling me he had adjusted the price down to reflect the hour we did not use.
So to summarize: 1) excellent communication and flexibility, 2) great guide, 3) very reasonable price, and 4) honest.

I thank the guide and the company for the excursion and for taking care of people security. I was in a sunny evening, was not too windy so I felt comfortable. With canal and Nevsky view. I loved the way our guide was answering all types of questions about the city:) each time I am impressed people can store so much actual information:) During our tour we could sit and admire, we could listen to the guide, we could stand and walk, we could talk. Whatever you want. I would definitely recommend that tour. Roof top view is something very classical and must see in Saint-Petersburg. Especially with a charming, responsible guide! We arrived on a cruise ship with three days for seeing sights in Saint Petersburg. Russia does not allow tourists to visit freely without an escort. I contacted Alla in advance for a driver escort and sent along a detailed map showing exactly what I wanted to see. I made clear that a guide providing narration was not necessary. Additionally the escort needed to understand that my spouse and I are a male couple. My itinerary was esoteric with architecture and art ranging from subway stations, social realist monuments, czarist churches, Art Nouveau residential neighborhoods, to a canal boat ride. - Sinda7 contributionsWe are a family of four with one teenager and 8 year old. Julia suggested and customised a tour especially for us given the ages of the children and all our preferences. We did a 2 day private tour and it was excellent. Our guide Elena was very knowledgeable, personable and made our 2 days very enjoyable. We had an active tour and covered a great deal of the sites in St Petersburg in the 2 days without feeling the strain. A definite must do with Julia and the Dancing Bears Tours. - Dr D1 contributionExcellent experience with SUPsurfing starting from narrow channel in SpB center and going to Neva river. Surfing is safe, supervised by both guiedes Asja and Dmitry. Even rainy weather didn't damaged my positive emotions after surfing. Irina assisted us with all the pre trip arrangements and she was excellent and always responsed quite promptly to emails...... I don't think she sleeps :-)
We were picked up from our cruise terminal in a van which was always clean, warm and ready to take us to the next destination. Our driver Val was always friendly and extremely courteous, opening doors and assisting the older tour members.
Our tour guide Asya was excellent. Not only did we learn about the tourist sights we visited, we also received a deeper insight into the culture of Russians in St Petersburg. I would definitely recommend Asya as a tour guide, she is a star!! (5stars)

She was very friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and truly passionate about the history. Elizabeth is fluent in Russian and English and managed to balance between two languages, as some of our small group members were only Russian or English-speaking people. Pick-up and drop-off were smooth. The vehicle was modern and comfortable, and it felt that the driver was a safe driver who knew the city very well. - Mike TRichmond, CA134 contributionsSorry for such a long review. This review is more about the guide than the company. We were scheduled for two days with Jay K. in Bangkok. She did a great job communicating with us every step of the way. She created a very comprehensive two day tour for us. Her driver Pui met us at the cruise port on time and had a sign with our name to easily locate him. The van was very comfortable and roomy. He also provided ice cold water and a brief 10 min bathroom stop about half way into our 2 hour trip.
Jay met is in Bangkok and was extremely organized. Following a brief stop at our first site we had lunch at a place mostly locals frequent which is Michelin stared. Lunch for 3 only cost about $33 usd and the food was fantastic. After a full day touring we rode a Tuk Tuk to our hotel to end the day. Jay is always making sure you are satisfied and quick to make a change to avoid more traffic, getting tickets to skip the line, or having food ordered and waiting for you when you get to a shop or food stall.
The following morning, my wife took a fall and needed hospital care for a fractured toe. Jay was absolutely incredible getting us to the hospital, working with the staff and Doctors to get us in and out so we did not miss the ship. She picked a very good hospital, got us all of the paperwork for insurance, a CD of the x-rays, and communicated with the hospital that we were under very tight time constraints for getting back to the ship. She coordinated the medicine pick up from the pharmacy and made sure we had lunch on our way back to the ship. She was absolutely amazing. Jay treated us like a member of her own family always with great care.
If we are ever back in Bangkok I will definitely use Jay for our guide. We are very seasoned travelers and I can confidently say that Jay is one of the best guides we have ever had in our travels.
