    One of the most beautiful buildings in St. Petersburg
    The House of the Singer Company or the House of the Book is one of the most beautiful buildings in St. Petersburg, built in the Art Nouveau style.
    It is beautiful both externally and internally. The facade of the building is very unusual - there are Valkyries on rostras, and shells, dragon heads growing from sheets of irises, mascarons, elegant glazed tiles and an impressive Cole crowned with a globe.
    Inside there is a feeling of spaciousness and freedom.
    There is a wonderful bookstore with a wide variety of postcards and souvenirs. Definitely worth a visit!

    Good Shopping Center
    Its centrally located and very easy to access as it has its own subway. There are a lot of shops but mostly on the expensive side.We did manage to buy some souvenirs and amber jewellery. Beautiful building and a good place for tourists.

    Store housed In Different Buildings
    On the way to Pulkova airport one can find the Moskovskly department store which is oddly enough spread out in different locations. The Men's department is located on one side of the road.

    They have a good selection of International designer brands like Dik Bikkemberg, Boss, Brax and State of Art.

    Helpful staff but luckily not of the hovering pushy kind as in some other stores.
    I came at the right time as I scored a shirt for only € 22 which was a whopping 70% off.

    When one crosses the very busy street on can find the cosmetics and some glassware department. Which has all the Intl. brands but also a hairdresser and chemist. Next to it is the ladies department which I did not enter.

    All in all worth a visit when one is in the neighbourhood.

    There is lots of competition in STB from the luxury DLT and Pont Au Rouge to Stockman.
