It was a very interesting tour to discover the vegetation (trees, plants and flowers) from Panama, Latin America and the rest of the world as the owners travelled everywhere with a passion for nature that they cul...
As well as the magnificent flora, we got to see a sloth and toucan, which were particular highlights and worth noting the animals are completely wild.

Overall had a memorable family experience and would very highly recommend visiting this park to anyone visiting Bocas town.

Red Frog Beach

Isla Bastimentos

You can walk the beach and on the Far East end of the beach there is a nice walk path through the jungle along the ocean where you can look-out at the beautiful blue sea.
Red Frog Island is probably one of the prettiest beaches I have ever visited - perfect sand, punctuated by coconut-trees and not-too-vicious waves for children to play at water's edge.

Ok, Whoosssaaaahhh… Playa Estrella is a Caribbean heaven on earth to chill and take it all in, including the incredible sky and mountain views.
If you are in Bocas make sure to take the time to visit this amazingly beautiful beach but be sure to bring your snorkel gear to really enjoy all it has to offer.

The boat tour takes you to sloth island, dolphin bay, Zappitilla, and snorkeling.
The bay lies between mangroves and the water is calm.

Go first thing in the morning as it gets very crowded during the day and the boats park on some of the best spots.

Staying a week on Isla Batimentos in Tranquilo Bay Eco Lodge was a wonderful and relaxing experience totally immersed in nature and hundreds of birds!
Great coral reefs with plenty of varied fish, clear water, clean beaches and nice people.

Wizard Beach

If you keep following the beach towards Red Frog beach and you wanna go there, walk until you encounter some huge rocks almost at the end of the beach, that you won’t be able to walk around (unless you wanna swim).
Walk trail in is nice, there are quite a few restaurants and bars right off the beach that are all very laid back and fun.

Polo Beach

Isla Bastimentos
#12 of 19 Nature & Parks in Bocas del Toro Province
Get there fast if you want to enjoy the gorgeous beach before development encroaches on one of the last pristine beaches on Basti
The hike TO Polo beach from Red Frog was amazing, but even more amazing was Polo Beach itself.

The people at Aamvecona care about protecting the wildlife in the region, specifically manatees and sea turtles, and are making efforts to reforest the surrounding land.
So this place is worth a visit both out of interest in nature as well as to support Aamvecona who are preserving the area.

... bet in Bocas for water activities is to hire a boat for the day and plan to visit several places, like Dolphin Bay, Isla Pajaros (AKA Bird Island), Zapatilla cays, Coral Cay, Starfish Beach,The Chocolate farm.
We had brought our snorkel gear with us and took about 30 mins to snorkel around close to the rock - it was really pretty - plenty of small fish, corals and awesome green / blue color water.

You can also access the park from Bocas del Toro but it is more difficult and you need a guide.
Eventually you get to a paved section of the road that takes you to a ranger station.
