It was an amazing day trip, we were lucky with sunny day in a rainy season
Of course we understood that we weren’t in a good shape to climb this mountain in expected time, but we did!!!
Hector was a great guide- not only guide (because he helped us to carry our backpacks when we were astonished 😅)
    Thank you Hector!!!
I truly appreciate it and we enjoyed climbing together!!!

A nice hike in general with 3 beautiful waterfalls to spot on the way. You can see lots of hummingbirds at the entrance, which can be challenging to reach (lots of stairs).
Be cautious, this hike is pretty difficult especially after a rainfall. The stones are slippery, muddy and lots of up and downhill climbing. The third waterfall is more difficult to access as you have to climb steeply by grabing onto a rope. The entrance price is at 10$ per person, update July24.

Every animal at La Jungla has a story. Some were injured, some abused, and some abandoned. Here they are cared for and loved. Some of the animals are just your typical pets, like cats and dogs, while others are wild, like the monkeys and parrots. If a wild animal is rehabbed, it will be set free. Others would never be able to survive on their own, so they become part of the family. Your guide will introduce you to each animal and tell you their story of how they became part of La Jungla. The humans at La Jungla are all very special people who truly care about the animals.

Well worth seeing. Very interesting to see how very different beekeeping is in Panama than in the USA, not even the same bees! The honey tasting is a lot of fun.

A well-marked hike you can easily do by yourself near Boquete. It follows a trail that ends up at a beautiful waterfall. On the way you can see a 1000 year old tree and some monkeys if you are lucky.
The entry is 5$ per person, which you have to pay at the house on the left side of the entry. Make sure to organise a cab to pick you up after the trail as there is no mobile network and few vehicules passing there. You can also opt for a collectivo bus that costs 2.50$ (per person) back to Boquete but there are no real timetables to rely on.
You can expect to hike for 2 to 2:30 hours.

This was a very good tour and learned quite a bit during the tour. Cesar our guide was excellent, in addition to talking us through the coffee plant life, bean drying process etc, he also told us about the various wildlife we encountered while walking through the farm. In addition to the four different coffees we got to taste, Cesar has saved some of the “shells” from the beans that we dried using the natural process, so we could make it into a tea for us to try. The coffee tasting/cupping was very enjoyable. The beans were freshly ground and it was very interesting to go through the various stages of assessing the coffee. The honey process ed means were my favourite. I also have to say the tea was very interesting and sweeter than I expected. Overall a great tour

We had a great couple of hours here. The plants and flowers were beautiful, saw so many birds. The children (10 &7) were kept amused by all the quirky models, statues, freaky faces. The thing they loved most though, was on the second trail, where there is some children's play equipment, including swings with really long ropes. We couldn't drag them off. Add to that some very friendly dogs who walked round some of the route with us, and it was good for all of us. The admission fee wasn't as advertised though, as it said $5 for adults and $3 for under 10s but the children were charged full price. We couldn't be bothered to argue for that amount so just paid up.

This is a farm upon which is grown some marvelous medicinal plants from which salubrious tinctures are made. The hostess, Elizabeth, is great and a font of info. many of the recipes are handed down from the original indigenous tribal Indians. Enjoy some breathtaking views from the Jarmillo side of Boquete.

The beers at this establishment are decent, not exceptional, but the real standout is the ambiance. It exudes a fantastic atmosphere that draws in locals and tourists alike. The fact that many patrons speak English makes it an ideal spot for socializing and meeting new people. However, it's worth noting that the noise level can be quite high, which may hinder meaningful conversations. Moreover, due to its popularity, the place tends to get crowded, resulting in frustratingly slow service.

A young pianist prodigy, 14 year-old David Garcia, captured the hearts and astonished the minds of those who attended his amazing recital at the Biblioteca de Boquete in June 2022. His performance demonstrated his proficiency in interpreting a variety of musical works from around the world - including classics from Shubert, Chopin, and Prokofiev - and also those from composers highlighting Panama, Argentina, and Spain. An amazing and enriching experience!

13 of us went to Macho De Monte today with our excellent guide Joseph Bonilla from SCAPEPANAMA. Agewise, we were from 50s to mid 70s but in decent physical condition. I was thinking the walk through the water with the canyon walks on each side was going to be similar to “The Narrows” in Zion National Park in Utah. That would’ve been a big NOPE burger! We walked through rocks in both shallow and deep waters and slid down a pretty steep natural rock slide. Ropes were required to get down another steep, pass in the canyon, and then at the end had the choice to rappel, climb a slippery, mossy wall or just jump 20 feet into the water below (I did the latter, which was much easier and time saving!) Then we had to turn around and find a way all the way back to the beginning…which was more difficult as you are climbing tall, wet and slick walls to get back to the starting point.

All of that being said, it was absolutely gorgeous, the canyon walls in the waterfalls in the turquoise water made it all worthwhile.

We had four guides with us, and they were very much needed and appreciated. They had to work very hard to get all of us up and down some treacherous areas. We were also geared up with helmets, life, vests, and rappelling harnesses.

This person is not for the faint hearted nor people afraid of water or heights. You must be in decent physical condition, and I strongly strongly recommend that you go with a company who can guide you safely.

Nice walk through an amazing cloud forest, however after crossing the first little stream you may be confronted by 2-3 very agressive dogs. On my way back I've met three people and one of them got bitten quite seriously. I'd say this risk is not worth the walk and I did not enjoy my way back despite being prepared with a stick and a rock in my hands. I had heard this from other people on my way to the summit too.
