- 71emmaKuching, Malaysia505 contributionsOur family of 13 had great fun here, aged from 7 to 71... It's indeed highly recommended to families and friends who wish to experience happiness with lots of laughter. It's even bigger and more impressive than the trickeye museum in Seoul. What made it so enjoyable was that we had a good tour guide, Ah Pin, with us. He taught us how to make poses or actions to make the pictures turn out more effective. We'll be compiling a photobook with those many enjoyable and happy moments. He also helped us take pics. He's pro at it (hp +6 019-571-5833). Without him, it wouldn't have been so successful. Our spirits were all high after that visit. Anyone going to Langkawi should not miss it.Written June 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - koolman3Leeds, UK1,874 contributionsPretty disappointed with this. Looks like govt has spent a lot of money building this but they have failed to make it a success or even maintain it. The whole site lies pretty dormant. You walk in and nobody is interested, nobody to give info or anything. Only thing available is the eatery where they serve food and drinks. The paddi fields, though not that many, are somewhat interesting but with no info they are mystery. Perhaps they can charge an entry fee and do guided tours with food sampling.
Oh, beware there are some nasty ants at the far end. You step in that area and these things invade you feet and everything attached to them. I am back in the hotel and I still have bugging me.Written January 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The staff is very friendly, we got to choose the batik patern and they provide the fabric painting. The price is 30 MYR per fabric. We have been briefly taught how to use the colours, how to dilute and combine the primary colours. Allow at least 1 hour to complete the painting and 10 min for drying. They are selling also some nice items inside, unfortunately the shop was closing and we didn't get much time to look around, but bought some lovely handmade table napkins. It would be nice to have someone explain more about their workshop and about batik technique. Overall it's a good experience especially for families with kids or art loversWritten March 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Margriet RSalt Spring Island, Canada201 contributionsThis is an interesting museum that teaches about the island's history and culture. We enjoyed strolling around. It's not terribly well maintained and several buildings were closed, but it's fun to see how rice is grown, the historic tools, etc. It's nice that there is no admission cost.Written February 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ronnie L136 contributionsI would only recommend visiting this place if you are near the Oriental Village. It is at the end of the village close to Car Park B where buses and taxis park.
There is only one tiger and one elephant here. We were fortunate that the tiger, Zanah, paced around just above the visitors' gallery when we were there.
We were provided with sugar cane and bread to feed the elephant. Children found this delightful. Some also chose to pay to ride the elephant.Written July 19, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DivingkiwiPerth, Australia64 contributionsWe jumped on the 2 wheeled steed and rode through the middle of the island not expecting much especially when we arrived to be the only people in the entire complex( this is a large craft market ). We followed the sign to the rear of the estate and walked in to the display room. Wow just wow. We love glass work and have collected it from a number of places but the craftsmanship was only bettered by the price. Don’t let a map fool you, it’s not a long trip from anywhere and so beautiful if your on a bike. You won’t regret checking it outWritten November 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- HishamKuala Lumpur, Malaysia29 contributionsThe Museum of Cultures & Weddings or "Muzium Adat-Istiadat & Perkahwinan" in Malay is a very interesting museum located within the Langkawi Craft Complex (Kompleks Kraf Langkawi). Besides this museum, there is another museum located in the craft complex, which is the Heritage Museum. The Museum of Cultures & Weddings exhibits various stuff related to the traditional wedding ceremonies of different races in Malaysia ranging from their wedding outfits, customs, and decorations. It is a worth visiting museum with a free admission fee.Written June 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,339 contributionsThe Visual Arts Gallery is hidden in plain sight, I had walked past it several times from my hotel to have dinner nearby. The doors are dark and look closed, the name is on one side, not in front. The current exhibition is about Langkawi before it became a tax free shopping destination with multiple foreign arrivals. I would have appreciated more and bigger photos of this history.Written January 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
