There was a carnival going on when I visited the Eagle Square. There was a big stage and many tentage so the photos of the eagle square which I had taken was totally different from what I have seen online. It was nice to see carnival n activities and stores selling the locally produced item.

As a first timer, the place is a must. But if you already been to langkawi multiple times, this place got nothing more to offer. With entrance fee of rm12 for malaysian adult, i think it's quite expensive considering the exhibitions are old and outdated. I think the last time i went there 10 years ago, the exhibit today are the same with no refurbishments. I see some renovations are on going, hoping will update the exhibition too.

There are lots of interesting souvenirs to be purchased here and most of them are locally made, which is great.

Jewellery, batik, crafts, woodwork and art items. The prices vary but are not too bad.

While we really ejoyed learning about the history and legends of Langkawi at this open air museum, we were also surprised that it is quite run down and not well maintained. Several buildings were closed, it's easy to trip on paths etc. But there were a few musicians that made it interesting. Also lots of vendors both inside and outside the museum grounds.
