Ohori Park Chuo
#1 of 198 Sights & Landmarks in Fukuoka
... also (with a ¥190 entry fee) which was stunning and well worth visiting, and it was also a short walk to the castle ruins where there are magnificent cherry blossom trees and a great view from the ramparts.
The park feels very secluded and peaceful, even if it is surrounded by the site and we loved being surrounded by so much water.

Make your prayers as normal, but go around the shrine and keep your eyes open for the various amazing sights!

Fukuoka Tower
#9 of 198 Sights & Landmarks in Fukuoka
The tower affords really great views of both the city and the bay area and islands and on a sunny day you can really see the city and surrounds hills and ocean.
Elevators take you up to the observation decks where you can enjoy a fabulous 360 degree view of Fukuoka City, across to the surrounding mountains, along the shoreline, the bay, and the islands.
