Edogawa Natural Zoo Edogawa
#1 of 11 Zoos & Aquariums in Tokyo
The zoo is connected to Gyosen Park, so one could picnic or relax at the park before heading off.
It's not big but after the zoo there are nice grounds with a lake and some grass areas where you could have a picnic.

Also you can see the beach from the aquarium as well , it’s quite amazing !
Big clean and well kept, lots of species on show, enough English signage to help tourists although it’s more of a local zoo vibe than a tourist trap.

A lovely little neighborhood sea aquarium with great exhibits and performances by sea lions, seals, and dolphins.
Great aquarium in Tokyo.
Sumida Aquarium Oshiage
#5 of 11 Zoos & Aquariums in Tokyo
You can easily find this aquarium if you visit Tokyo Skytree, where you can find different sea creatures, and different kinds of penguins, etc. Good place to visit with kids and it's just easy to access there.
Unlike most aquariums I've visited, this gift shop has an extensive merchandise featuring garden eels: unusual but adorable!

Sunshine Aquarium Toshima
#6 of 11 Zoos & Aquariums in Tokyo
Amazing aquarium, everything is well taken care of and pretty :) its dark inside but the tanks are lit up nicely to see everything :) then watched the sealion show which was really good :D
The sea lion show and the pelican feeding were some of the coolest things I've ever seen at an aquarium.Once you're done at the aquarium, you're basically in a big mall you can explore.
Ueno Zoo Uenokoen
#7 of 11 Zoos & Aquariums in Tokyo
The zoo was exceptional value for money considering the amount and range of animals as well as comparisons to other the prices of other big city zoos.
If you find yourself in Tokyo and growing tired of the streets and the city I can highly recommend a day at the Ueno Zoo.
