My spouse and I visited this stunning Japanese garden in November 2024. It was a remarkable example of traditional Japanese garden architecture, featuring serene paths, elegant bridges, and peaceful water features. The harmony of nature and design left us in awe, offering a tranquil escape from the outside world. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates beauty and serenity
Yokohama was once Japan's major window to the outside world. Yamate, its foreign quarter, is a unique area that blends east and west. This lovely Italian garden is a perfect example. While the landscaped greenery is evidently Roman, the mansion is Tudor. The former residence of a key diplomat occupies the central stage. Interior is beautifully restored to its former elegance. No admission. Beware that it is a steep walk from Motomachi or the train station.
Not so far away from central parts, but different. Calmer, peaceful, well organized, lots of flowers, roses. This time of year not so flowerimpressive, but very well taken care of. Little shop, restaurant, benches for rest and shadow. Nice place!
Founder of Mr. Yoshiro Takanashi planted 10,000 roses when he built the Yokohama plant in 1959.
This rose garden is admission free. Takanashi is Yokohama based company famous for milk and ice cream. It's good place to take rose pictures in the midst of May.
