Has lots of options to offer for families such as camping facilities, waterfall viewing spots, kids playing areas, observatory areas and a beautiful country garden where there are nice flowers blooming in august.

Shikisai no Oka Biei-cho
If travelling with young kids, it's also conveniently close to Chiyoda Farms and a lovely wooden toy store (which you can find on the Biei Road Map available locally, or by looking up 美瑛の丘のおもちゃ屋さん on Google Maps).
The children enjoyed it and it did a quick photo stop half way around, it also gave us a nice overview of teh flower farm, so was definitely worthwhile.

Great ski area offering something for everyone with good access to the back gates for the more adventurous and good areas for kids learning to take their first turns.
The slopes are the easiest here so to tend to get a lot of beginners and families.

My kids, aged 3 and 5, loved their lessons: The area is less frenetic than NBS and GoSnow as a result of the location being further afield, and this suited my 3yo, who was skiing for the first time, perfectly.
