Kanazawa Station
#1 of 154 Sights & Landmarks in Kanazawa
For local sights, we found the sightseeing buses, Kanazawa Loop Bus and Kenrokuen Shuttle were great at 500yen for a day pass.
... station is awesome very modern and seats seats seats, there are seats in the waiting room and they are comfy to sit on while you wait for a train or just having a rest before marching on to the tourist sites.

Kanazawa is quite a landmark as regards samurais history so i highly recommend visiting the Nomura Family samurai house.

Tsuzumi Gate
#4 of 154 Sights & Landmarks in Kanazawa
The gate has to be the most- photographed site in Kanazawa, thanks to its imposing nature and its location at the train station.
This gate is one of the first architectural sites you'll see when visiting Kanazawa, since it is located at one of the exits of the train station.

The staff were incredibly friendly and it was a real privilege to view the inside of a historic geisha house.

They have an orange (clockwise) and green (counter-clockwise) buses that are loop buses that come every 15 minutes that go in a big loop around Kanazawa and hits most of the tourist sites.
The look-out gives view of nearby plains and could be used to transmit signals to and from Kanazawa castle (uploaded on my wall).

Amazing view of old japan.
This short lane was once lined with willow trees to shield the houses across from each other from view.

The setting was outstanding, incorporating the elements of Japanese gardens - running water, peaceful views, and even a crooked segmented path over a pond.

Spend an hour or so walking around here: the sights and sounds are incredible, and the stall holders really friendly and polite.
Good photo ops, there seemed to be a greater variety of seafood on view that the Tsujiki Open Market in Tokyo.

And be sure to explore the rest of the neighborhood, too - there are a couple more interesting sites: the Stables, and the Nakaya Shinese Pharmacy Museum.
The site is small, and you can't enter much, but you can see the garden and original architecture of the house, and inside the horse stables.
