- Lola T1 contributionNice day with white sand dunes.Fun but too short. We will comeback again. The best time to watch sunset hereWritten April 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- BorntocruiseUKHeathfield, UK13,814 contributionsWell I read some reviews and most say, don’t bother.
But I’m glad that we did,
It’s a unique experience and we often found ourselves just laughing.
Where we were walking to I have no idea at all. We just went down the steps and walked, as did lots of other people.
The water is warm and not very deep. Although occasionally you will come across a few deep places with slippery rocks underneath. But it’s easy to walk along.
Along the way you will see people say at tables eating their dinners.
Or bars set up along the stream.
But the main thing is the different coloured sand and rock formations on either side.

- BorntocruiseUKHeathfield, UK13,814 contributionsReally what you are stopping here for is to take photos. It makes a beautiful backdrop taken from the wall. I walked down to the waterside and it’s filthy with rubbish.
That being said you don’t really notice it from the roadside.
The sea is just filled with brightly coloured boats and their traditional coconut fishing boats.
It’s worth a quick stopWritten October 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - BorntocruiseUKHeathfield, UK13,814 contributionsWe did a sunset tour of the red dunes.
It’s quite a walk to the top with all the other 100’s of people. Mui Ne was so quiet when we were there but they must have all been on the red dunes.
We walked to the top to see the sun fall behind the cloud and that’s where it stayed.
So nothing spectacular at at all.
Would i recommend it… the jury is out.

- Pete W156 contributionsA really dirty beach. So sad to see so much plastic,
Especially a place which is well known for its seafood. I didn’t fancy eating any seafood while I was there. Probably contaminated with plastic. Of

I recommend walking further up towards the shop house which has a better shots of the sunset.Written January 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sea DwellerDubai, United Arab Emirates6,943 contributionsIn 1872, a renowned monk named Tran Huu Duc embarked on a solitary journey from the Central region of Vietnam. He traversed mountains, forests, and rugged terrains to find a serene abode for spiritual practice atop Ta Cu Mountain. After seven years, forest-goers discovered the monk's meditation cave.
I was not traveling alone, but with my family. At the base of the mountain, we took the cable car, and after 15 minutes we stood on the top of the mountain.
There are two famous pagodas on the top of Ta Cu Mountain, at an elevation of 649 meters above sea level: Linh Son Trung Tho pagoda, dedicated to the revered monk Tran Huu Duc & Long Doan pagoda where you can admire one of the most unique and biggest statues in Southeast Asia. The statue, 49m in length and 11m in height, was made from reinforced concrete and covered with white lime on a stone base, leaning on the mountain. It was built in 1962 and completed after nearly four years. The statue depicts the reclining Buddha in a state of tranquility and enlightenment, symbolizing peace and serenity.Written July 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The gardens and the buddahs are exquisite. I like the quietness of the place. - Graeme N8 contributionsTypical local market with produce (meats, vegetables, fruit) plus clothes, plastic household goods and toys more suitable for locals or more adventurous travellers. No ‘hard sell’ by vendors, but quite hot/humid under the high tin roof. We spent 15 minutes looking, which was plenty.Written October 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- The_Pale_RidahGladesville, Australia1,952 contributionsThe Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Tapao is an interesting place that has attracted much attention due to the funny things that have reported to have happened there, from divine apparitions, miracle cures, the statue's cloak moving to the sky changing colours, whatever the case or wateva vids people have upload on YouTube it is a site that attracts Vietnamese pilgrims of every faith & religion to pay homage & to ask for a wish.
The bottom foothills where the 400-odd stairs start has become a commercial free-for-all as the Church does not own the land so unrestricted commercial activities such as roast port vendors (traditional food for worship & offerings) have sprung up everywhere.
Beggars & the poor both professional & legit, the maimed & deformed have flocked to this site like a freak show hoping to gain from pilgrims, they line both sides of the lower stairs like a gauntlet of horrors, holding out their hands chanting, i probably saw over 60, making it a harrowing experience in itself.
The staircase leads to a wide platform with a large white statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking a wide view of the surrounding farmland & the La Nga river. Groups of pilgrims of every religion pray at the site & is a place of reflection & worship.
Surprisingly the site has no church, I understand they are trying to purchase land there to help keep this place from becoming an amusement park of horrors with every kind of shady character & beggar south of Saigon converging there.Written February 7, 2010This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
