Our days were filled with exploring colorful shops and hidden alleyways, while evenings brought romantic boat rides and riverside cafes - perfetto for lovebirds like us!
Hoi An isn't just about the sights, it's the relaxed pace. We enjoyed leisurely coffee breaks on sun-drenched balconies, watching life go by. Sunsets painted the river gold, the perfect backdrop for strolls and hand-holding. ✨
If you're seeking a romantic escape with history and charm, Hoi An is pure magic. We left with hearts full of joy and bellies full of pho - the perfect couple's getaway! ❤️

Another traveler told me about this place the other day, and with a free day before leaving Hoi An, I decided to check it out.
As an older woman, I grew up being fascinated with books of regional and traditional clothing. I remember seeing them in National Geographic and Life magazines. As I have traveled, they have been harder and harder to find. Textiles are fragile and I don't think generalist museums find they have enough draw for the time and effort they take to conserve.
I am so happy that Rehahn has made it an avocation and sees the value of recording them and the people who make and wear them. It is clear the people have stolen his heart and he has taken the time to get to know and respect them.
Also as an older woman I was heartened to see how engrossed younger travelers were in this ethnological display. It will be their memories and stories that help these traditions survive.
In my mind, it is another chapter of Vietnam culture that is a must-see.

Beautiful beach, but not safe to swim in during the rainy season due to runoff. While we were there, a young man died when swimming during a storm. Walks along the beach are very nice.

The show was a spectacle and very haunting and enjoyable. The physical strength of the artists was impressive. Well worth a visit.

We visited this village in the Hoi An countryside during our Scooter Tours Vietnam city tour. It's a beautiful place, with little paths through vegetable and fruit fields right next to rivers. You can also meet local farmers who explain their way of working, which is well worth the visit.

Fujian Temple is located in Hoi An very center, and for sure you're about to see it.
It's a Temple dedicated to Sea Goddess, built by Chinese immigrants who settled in Hoi An. It was their spiritual religious gathering place. Small fee to enter.

This is a smaller gallery of Mr. Rehahn's terrific photography.
For a much better experience go to his bigger gallery museum "Precious Heritage by Réhahn" which is 10 min walk away.
In order not to repeat myself, read that review (Precious Heritage by Réhahn) where I gave detailed explanations of this amazing photographer.

Came back here after many years, so many things changed. Beautiful beach was washed away by the waves. So sad. But the government has been trying so hard to revive it. Still beautiful beach, perfect temperature for swimming or just strolling around and chill out at 1 of the bars along the beach.

Went there in May 2023 as part of the tour package in Hoi An ancient town. Hoi An is rich in history, and this house is one of its elements. It's good to learn and see what a traditional house is like from one of the town's influential families. There is lots of antiquity inside, and there is a short presentation about the Confucius cup. A must-visit if you are into history.

A fun and tasty experience. Kun was a great guide and teacher as she first showed us around the market to gather some ingredients then back at the restaurant to cook them. Kun also had great comedic timing and a lovely sinking voice. The recipes were tasty and enjoyable to cook. We highly recommend the experience, was one of our most memorable days of our trip!

There’re several houses from Chinese immigrants and this is Cantonese. The garden at the back of the house is vast and open to rest. The red date and pillars are impressive too.

Historic location, more locals, limited ready to eat food options compared to restaurants but the food is good. There are some great restaurants near the market too. Nice ambience . Free toilets available. If you have the time, or if you're hungry, this is a great place to check out.

We enjoyed this workshop where they make several handicrafts - embroidery, lantern making, wood carving and other crafts. A fun visit and we bought several crafts for our families.
