What travelers are saying
- Rahul SharmaLucknow, India4 contributionsThe town's traditional architecture and rich culture enveloped us. Lanterns lit up the night, creating a magical atmosphere. We loved every moment, from the vibrant markets to the serene temples. It's a living museum where history and romance intertwine.Written January 15, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GinnyAlaskaMillburn, New Jersey44 contributionsWent with my family of four - including two college kids - to this lovely farm for a half day adventure. We got a full tour of the garden and had the chance to learn about and smell all of the beautiful herbs that are farmed there. We even got a chance to plow, plant, and water a small plot ourselves. Then we went back and prepared a few dishes together, then ate those plus more delicious food that had been prepared by others. We had an absolutely fantastic time. Highly recommend!Written January 4, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Martin HPhnom Penh, Cambodia20 contributionsFascinating structure, always busy with people, especially tour groups. This makes it difficult to move about and take pictures.

However, when we went to the 2nd shop they wanted us to buy an item for 200,000 to 800,000 Dong for each clay bowl, cup or vase we wanted to make. After we did that, the paints they provided was guache and not real glazes. They don’t fire the items in a kiln either, Instead, they put it in the air-fryer for a few minutes. My bowl cracked into pieces even befpre I reached home. I could buy some clay and do it myself at home and there wouldn’t be much difference.Written December 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joel KVancouver, Canada3,725 contributionsWe enjoyed this workshop where they make several handicrafts - embroidery, lantern making, wood carving and other crafts. A fun visit and we bought several crafts for our families.Written April 1, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Face_The_ElementsEdmonton, Canada344 contributionsThis house has been kept in the family for generations with many original items found in the home. Great architecture from Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese influences. Plus you can see the “Greedy” cup! The home has been there so long that it has withstood many floods. Markers near the back showcase where the water has risen to and it’s crazy!Written November 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darren LQueenstown, MD913 contributionsNeat example of an old Chinese house. Worth a quick stop as it is in pretty good shape.
Of course, like almost everything here, someone will try to sell you something.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At night, with its lights, along with the hundreds of boats with their lanterns, it is a fabulous spectacle.
It connects both sides of the city.
It's worth going over it (on foot) or under it (in a small boat with a lantern)

- Shelley MAlbany, New Zealand915 contributionsLooks like a lego castle from the outside. Quite a bit to this one and held my teenage boys interest more than others. Used one of the old town tickets for entry. They love to burn incense which makes the place really smoky which is rather off putting. Liked the little gardens.Written May 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TravelEatXploreBoston, MA5,476 contributionsFree to enter. Well preserved building. I guessed this is where all the meeting of the town are held.Written May 7, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- JnVSydneyGreater Sydney, Australia24,350 contributionsWe stayed about 30 mins walk out from the old town, which via the riverside/waterfront, was the best way to and from, it is such an enjoyable walk, that not many visitors take/do unless staying out of town, there are many restaurants to enjoy, that have seating along the river, highly recommend this walk when visiting Hoi An.Written November 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KGB777Singapore, Singapore41,221 contributionsI think some of the other reviews of this place are a little harsh. Whilst this place is nothing particularly special I wouldn't say it is that much different to the other places in Hoi An. The building itself was in quite good condition and there were a few fairly mediocre displays inside. Probably not worth going out of your way to visit, but I wouldn't describe it as terrible.Written March 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
