- Mark MKirkland, WA930 contributionsThe photography shoot at Sultan Carpet was our favorite (and unplanned) experience in Cappadocia, as we have traveled to over forty countries and this was the most unique experience in Cappadocia. We did Balloon ride over Cappadocia as well, but did not enjoy it as much as the photography shoot with the carpets and lanterns. I also enjoyed meeting Ali who use to live in my current hometown. I would strongly recommend booking a time at Sultan Carpet to take pictures.Written September 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara L2 contributionsI spent two afternoons in the shop, and felt like I was in a high end rug museum. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, credible, and a master of her trade. What is nice is that she has a full array of rugs to choose from for those with a limited budget to prices you would expect to pay for rare, collectible rugs. I’m sure I’ll be a lifelong customer.Written September 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JonkMelbourne, Australia24 contributionsI bought 3 carpets from Mr Ibrahim while on a short holiday in Goreme. He has a huge variety and they are very reasonably priced. I found he gave good advice and knows his carpets and was never pushy about selling them to me.
He even shipped them to my hotel in Istanbul in just under 2 days saving me the hassle of extra baggage.
If you find time between outdoor activities and are looking for good well priced carpets in Cappadocia then pay Mr Ibrahim a visit. Highly recommended.Written September 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Truly an unbelievable Turkish experience. Hospitality, generosity, knowledge, experience, and most of all, comical entertainment…. Incredible!
After a few cups of tea, a couple of bottles of water, and three carpets later, Mehmet walked us over to his favorite lunch spot, and introduced us to the owner, where they took good care of us.
If you are ever interested in a wide selection of Turkish carpets and a good dose of comedy relief, please visit Mehmet and his nephew Melih.
The shopping experience was truly one of the highlights of our holiday.Written August 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MelissaPerth, Australia61 contributionsHakan is such a friendly man who really have a passion for helping his fellow customers from all over the world find their desired style carpet/kilim for their homes.
He has a unique personality and speaks many languages which help in the busy tourist season. He is very friendly and courteous, and puts no pressure on you to buy. But if he can sell a rug and make friends in the process, then he is happy to do so, but above all he loves showing you his rugs and talking about them…Written August 28, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - tin lok C4 contributionsFaruk and his family were so nice and friendly. Instead of being pushy like other businessmen, they proudly introduced and presented their artworks of cushion covers which were all unique and specially designed by Faruk. Totally no pressure at all, so that we had a great time and was able to choose some nice covers and stones souvenirs which could not be found elsewhere in Turkiye. Definitely worth a visit!Written November 10, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- twofeathersSingaporesingapore319 contributionsThis reveiw is long overdue. But we had a great time purchasing 2 rugs from Hasan. He was very polite, patient. honest and very passionate about his merchandise. Prices were really the best we have encountered in Turkey, very reasonable and we are very happy with our carpets. If I should return to Turkey, Rose Carpet would be the place to go! We stopped in this shop and spent over an hour learning from the owner about regional styles, dying techniques, and purposes behind these treasures. My husband and I were not planning to purchase anything, but we were so enchanted by this shop and those who worked there, as well as the beautiful rugs, that we returned to buy a rug the next evening. We felt we got a great price (we did haggle a bit), but the real prize was the knowledge we gained and the hospitality we received. I never felt pressured at any time to buy anything, and I felt that even if we didn't, we would have enjoyed the experience of learning about this fascinating and beautiful artistic tradition. Thanks so much for a memorable experience!Written December 28, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
