Fascinating insight into how people used to live when trying to be safe from persecution by soldiers and, in earlier times, wild animals (or so we were told). We took a local guide who forced himself on us and some other tourists - some interesting insights but the man was a scoundrel: massive charge and when I had to go get money from a cash machine after, and it took a couple of minutes as there was a line, he started having a go at my wife. Not cool. I would warn anyone if this dude.

It was great to navigate it with a tour guide (who was provided by my tour company) who explained details of each area ..
The tunnels are narrow, so not good for people those have phobia. And the people with knee sickness and asthma

Interesting in its own right, as, as far as I know, it is the only underground ceramic museum in the world, there are also interesting exhibits on show. There are three distinct sections; ancient pottery, modern pottery and an art gallery. When we were there, there did not seem to be any people who were acting as guides but this was not a drawback as the exhibits were well described. The exit from the Museum is, like all museums the world over, through the 'museum shop'. This museum shop, though, is massive. All sorts of pottery are on sale; from "touristy" mementos to individually-designed ware.

My partner and I went to Cappadocia for a holiday in December, and we got engaged there. We visited Kocabag to celebrate, and we were fascinated by the wines, the place, and the staff. We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was incredibly friendly. We had such a great time that we went back every day and purchased some wines to take home. If you find yourself in Cappadocia, don't miss the opportunity to try this place.

The best ceramic shop in the town. You find there beautiful things for you, friends and your family. You must visit it, if you in Avanos.

Really beautiful cave house! We found it by chance, since we were looking for a place to shelter from the rain. But it was one of the places we liked best of our whole visit in Cappadocia. It has multiple floors and since there is furniture in it, it really gives you an idea how life in these cave houses has been. Highly recommended to pay a visit!

Craftsmanship was amazing, truly unique and expert. Me and my family were welcomed by incredibly friendly and kind owners. They treated us like family and made us feel right at home, as he took us through his pottery process. The shop has alot of history, and is truly worth a visit.

Love this place! We were staying in Cavusin (10mins away in a taxi) and went for a last minute wine tasting in March - we called the wine house and less than an hour later Erdi met us there and gave us all sorts of wines to try.
He was very knowledgeable and passionate about wines - how they are made, how and why they taste how they do, what flavours compliment different wines - and his enthusiasm for the subject really shone through.
While we sampled wines and told him what we thought of them, he learned the flavours we enjoyed most and tailored the tasting to suit.
Afterwards we bought some of our favourite wine there and as a nice little touch he stuck a QR code on each bottle which contained a playlist to go with the wine!
The wine house itself is a quaint little cave with two main rooms that are lined with wine on both sides and they have a very good selection that definitely caters for everyone :-) We had a great evening with Erdi and if you are in the area, I'd definitely recommend going here.

Interesting dervish show. Impressive caravanserai. Hour-long show was just enough with helpful pamphlet to explain.

We visited the Ebru gallery and watched a demonstration of water painting by Guler Somturk where she created one-of-a-kind textiles and paintings on different objects. We were given the opportunity to then create our own project guided by the master artist using the Ebru method. It was unique, interesting and a lot of fun. My wife bought one of Ms. Somturk’s silk scarves which has received many complements from her friends since our return home.

Nice place in town center but I would say it’s more show then winery experience especially that they ask to pay tastning.

One of the highlights of Turkey was meeting Orhan and buying three beautiful kiims.
Orhan is a storyteller who invites you into his shop and then into the life of the carpet, which is also a tiny slice of his life. The carpet holds the story of the one who made it; it has a life and history and if you buy the carpet you take the story and the life with you. Thanks to Orhan, who invited me in for tea, stories, friendship and magic carpets.

Gorgeous church with very vivid blue paintings inside. On the hill on the way up to the entrance to the Goreme open air museum. No photos allowed.
