What travelers are saying
- Wingfield73Chiang Mai, Thailand863 contributionsThe Khao Sok lake (or rather reservoir) turned out to be the high spot of our trip to Surat Thani province. Our boatman was clearly very proud of his lake and took us to all his favourite spots on a two hour long trip. The lake and the surrounding forests are a nature reserve and we regretted no having the time to explore more.Written May 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- jajavalBLampang, Thailand2,619 contributionsit locates near the Tapee river ,it's Sriwichai ancient architecture, same as well known Phra that Chaiya in Chaiya district. it's very colorful at night with lighting up with colorful color and it's just within walking distance to major attractions around the city ,such as Lam phu public park ,which is the island amid Tapee river, Ban Don pier and market .Written March 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SuratrichardSurat Thani, Thailand1,370 contributionsThis market is certainly popular with local Thais every Sunday. Now and again, there is a special event which, on this occasion we visited, was celebrating the third birthday of the market by giving out free food. In reality there were far too many people there and it was almost impossible to see what food was being given away. Despite staff asking people not to take the food away from the market, we saw many people heading back to their cars with bags of the food.
Normally, even though the market is still popular, it's not as busy although parking can still be a problem despite the best efforts of staff. Some drivers can't be bothered to park properly and just abandon their cars without any thought of other people wanting to park.
There are many stalls selling fruit and cooked foods all reasonably priced. Some have tables and chairs so you can sit by the Klong and enjoy what's on offer.
It's a good way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday and to sample local food.
Highly recommended.Written November 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - nut2 contributionsto pay the respect to the image of venerable monk “Luang Phor Klom”.who was the past abbot of this temple and very famous for practicing the dharma in the south of Thailand.Offering dedicated to Buddhist monks.Admire the long racing boat.Wat Phothawas is one of the oldest temples in Surat Than.Written March 20, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- derektripsPhilippines510 contributionsNeed to walk more than you already do? Go for it! Nice comfortable walk around this small island. Best to do it in the morning or late afternoon. There will be more people there than during the mid-day but still nice either way. Small roadside food vendors before you enter. There is no charge to visit the park.Written February 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- SuratrichardSurat Thani, Thailand1,370 contributionsThis is the main shopping centre for Suratthani city and is situated on the outskirts of the city. There are large carparks and even at weekends it's possible to find a parking place although some drivers seem unable to park within the lines!
There are many shops including a large department store (Robinsons) and a supermarket (TOPS) and usually there are a number of pop up shops on the ground floor. There appears to be quite a high turnover of shops which is probably a sign of the times given the Covid situation.
On the upper floors are many restaurants and a food court, a cinema and children's play area. Banks and mobile phone shops are plentiful and you can even buy a vehicle!
We tend to avoid weekends as it can get very busy. The centre opens at 10am.
Easy to spend a few hours here and equally easy to spend a lot of money!Written September 7, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Gary SchofieldPenzance, UK68 contributionsWasn't too impressed with this place. Everyone was friendly. The team catered for our every need and were very informative. The 5 stops to snorkel were well organised and you felt completely safe with staff in the water and guiding you on where to look and what to see. Even spotting turtles and sharks at the last stop. Lunch was excellent and the tea, coffee, water and snacks were plentiful and available all day. The photos taken by the staff were all made available free of charge 2 days later. Can highly recommend this trip.Written June 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
