The best bits are the long boat rides and swim in the beautiful green sea. First we stopped off at a viewing point of the mountains and then went to emerald lake were we went on canoes to look at mangroves and fish then we had a cool down in emerald lake . Our tour guide was very good and informative.
Very tranquil ride on the bamboo rafting
Our guide was very good at pointing out snakes in the trees but hard to photo whilst moving but he did see one at the end of our trip and jumped off and held the raft still so managed to get a photo.
Turtle 🐢 place was enough to see all.

It is important for me that to see elephants being cared for and happy in their retirement. This will be an experience I treasure forever. All of the staff are excellent and from what I can see, live by their values where the elephants are the boss and dictate how they live, happily. Our guide Jungle Boy really made the experience so special for us - funny, informative about the elephants and treated them with kindness and respect. Walking with, making vitamin balls and feeding them was truly magical and thank you to the team for making this possible. If you are looking for an ethical, memorable experience where conservation is key, please choose this sanctuary. Saw lots of different fish and coral at each stop.
Lunch was just okay, but did enjoy stopping at the village and purchasing some trinkets from locals.

Particularly white water rafting, all the instructors got involved in pranks, jokes and fun! They are incredibly supportive and friendly. Next time I come back I'll do this again for sure!
The lunch was also delicious and we'll presented... Was great coming back from the activities and having the table set up with plenty of delicious Thai food.

This place still has challenges and since our group was small and seemed like the riders has some experience, we rode through various courses which was fun! - Angela HEdinburgh, UK22 contributionsWhat amazing trip , our Guide was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy . Our accommodations was a bamboo hut on the lake which wasn’t what we expected but which added to the experience . The driver of the longboat was amazing knowing all the nooks and crannies of the lake navigated perfectly even in the dark with only head torch .
We saw lots of monkeys , otters deer , a few iguanas, one of which ran up the beach as we approached which was just like watching a David Attenborough documentary. We thought the big animals had avoided us but on way back on day 2 we spotted an elephant. Wow! What a treat and he wasn’t bothered by us watching him take a mud bath so we sat and watched quietly taking lots of pictures. I cannot express how magical this trip was and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to see the real Thailand and its habitants.

Plenty of time at each area of the trip
Food at lunch was plenty and well varied for all tastes
Would recommend for all ages
Only downside, a long drive from our hotel in Khao Lak. The main start point is south of Phuket airport.
