Ol Doinyo Lengai is such a beautiful and special mountain. We didn't have very nice and clear weather on the mountain, at the beginning there was even some rain and it was cloudy. But it was still very beautiful, a little mystical.

We were on mountain with Maasai guide Issaya and mountain guide Emanuel from PMA Adventure Safari, who also organized everything: from Arusha to Arusha. Before climbing, we had a walk to Lake Natron, where pink flamingos gather. The guides told us about all the mountains around, about Lake Natron, the flora and fauna and more. We also went on a fantastic canyon walk through the river canyon to beautiful waterfalls. Swimming in the waterfalls was wonderful and fun. I can't say enough about the spectacular and otherworldly landscape.

We started the hike at midnight and reached the summit before sunrise. We were quite fast, so we had to wait about an hour and a half, before to go to the top. Reading the reports on the website, you would think that this climb is only for professional climbers. If you are fit, you will climb in 4 hours, spend an hour on the summit and descend in 2 hours. Be positive mentally, listen to your guides and you will have an unforgettable experience.

I advise you to go there with a good car and an experienced driver, as the road can be rough. We can barely get through some parts, there were some floods on the road and without a good driver/car I don't know what it would be like.

Our guides were professional and responsive and helped plan every detail. The knowledgeable and friendly guides made sure the adventure was safe and enjoyable.
If you are planning your trip to Tanzania and want to climb mountains, I recommend PMA Adventure Safari. Emanuel is a professional guide, passionate about his work and ready to be by your side from the first day at the airport. Emanuel's number: +255753326575

My wife and I did a 11 day luxury safari to celebrate our 70th birthdays. Augustine did not disappoint us! We had two terrific guides, Eddie and Frank and our own private Land Cruiser. They accommodated all our requests and treated us like VIP's. Most importantly, we saw the Big 5 animas, and much much more. We witnessed a lion kill of a gazelle, and a wildebeest giving birth!
Accommodations were very nice, but discuss what you are looking for when you book it so Augustine can accommodate your 'level of luxury' desired....but we were very pleased.
    I highly recommend AA Africa!

Nearly all of the reviews left here are of Ngorogoro Crater. Ngurudoto Crater in Arusha National Oark is beautiful, but you cannot enter it, nor are there any lions or rhino in Arusha National Park. 🤨

My husband and I kicked off our honeymoon with a 5 night, 6 day northern circuit (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Manyara, Tarangire) safari through EASTCO. We were pretty overwhelmed with the number of options and operators to choose from initially. Of the ~6 companies we spoke to, EASTCO stood out as not the cheapest, but good value and a respectable, local company - we are happy with our decision. David was very informative throughout the planning process and made it a breeze to get exactly what we envisioned through a catered itinerary - communication was prompt and instructions thorough.

The trip itself was incredible and mostly seamless. Wilson was an excellent guide with 12 years of experience and so much knowledge (never needed a map or directions, answered non-stop questions for 6 days!) - he also had a good sense of humor and was a pleasure to be around which is important given the time spent together. He would speak to other guides along the way to get intel on animal sightings, was flexible but made sure we got everything we were looking for, great spotter and was on-top of permits, timing, etc. Unfortunately our Land Rover had mechanical issues our last day, but Wilson was quick to problem solve and had a backup vehicle pick up from the lodge within a few hours - in time to make our flight.

The itinerary was well planned as far as pacing and activities and we thoroughly enjoyed each of the Lemala properties we stayed in (especially Nanyukie). We opted to go during low season which meant cooler weather, discounts on lodging and MUCH less crowds. We were impressed by all of the parks and the huge variation in landscapes between them, but Serengeti and Ngorongoro are not to miss if you have limited time. Flying one-way to Serengeti was affordable, a cool experience and allowed for a full extra day game drive vs. driving 6+ hours from Arusha. Can't recommend this experience or operator enough :).

I had an amazing experience at the Napuru falls. The hike to the falls, passing through forest park and water bare foot was really an experience to remember. I took a guide and freely paid to support him. The natural beauty of a place well preserved was worthwhile for the evening. I also enjoyed the swing when i was living the park.

I also visited the nearby Themi water fall and leisure park.

I had the pleasure of working with Stephen for over 2 years, planning this once in a lifetime trip. Stephen was patient with all my questions and itinerary changes. We had a private tour. The accommodations he picked were indeed luxury out in the bush. The people of Tanzania are welcoming and gracious.
And there are not enough adjectives to complement Joachim as a driver/guide. A masterful driver on the worst of roads, made sure we were comfortable, picked the best spots to get our pictures and was very easy to get along with and a great sense of humor. With all the dusty roads and dirt tracked into the vehicle, each morning we got into a clean truck for the day’s drive. Joachim has a wealth of knowledge of the animals, birds of his country.

We were on a private 8 day/7 night safari for 2 people and visited all the major national parks in Tanzania including a walking safari and a night game drive. We loved every minute; the scenery is outstanding, we saw the Big 5, the Great Migration and many animals and birds. Walter at Galloping Safaris was very quick to respond to our many questions and tailored the safari to suit what we wanted to do and to fit our budget. Nothing was too much trouble. Our tour guide, Macho, was professional, fun, friendly and excellent at spotting the wildlife. He was really knowledgeable and explained about the wildlife, the area and the culture. Our accommodation was excellent and all meals were provided and of high quality. This was a trip of a lifetime and we would thoroughly recommend it.

We had an absolutely magical experience. Working with Easy Travel was indeed easy! Prompt and clear communications, a personalised trip to work with our flight timings and desired destinations, and a very warm welcome from Ruki and the team in Arusha.

A perfect five stars for our guide Omary. We visited at the end of shoulder season, and still saw all the animals we hoped to see and more. Omary is incredibly knowledgeable, but also patient. We were interested not just in the big 5, but small animals, birds, trees, flowers - Omary knows something about them all, and gave us time to appreciate (and photograph) every fascinating creature while also keeping to our schedule.
One thing which really stood out was his genuine love, appreciation and respect for the animals.
Through patience and experience, Omy brought us very close to several animals without alarming them or disrespecting their home. We note that this is not a universal attitude in the parks, so our special thanks to Omary and the team.

Finally, the Easy Travel safari Landcruiser was clean and well-maintained, and got us through some rough patches during rainy periods!

To summarise, the attention to detail, quality, comfort and safety of Easy Travel and Omary made our journey unforgettable. We hope to come back to Tanzania with Easy Travel soon.

We would like to share our impressions of the Safari! Everything was organized at a very good level. We were met on time and brought to a good hotel the day before the safari. That day, Daniel (a representative of Suricata Safaris) met with us and answered all our questions. The next day, a jeep came for us in the morning and we set off on a journey. During the entire trip, everything was always on time, without delays. Our driver-guide Golden made our safari wonderful. He told interesting stories about the animals, he drove up to the most interesting places in the savannah. As a result, in three days in the Serengeti and Ngoro-Ngoro parks, we saw all the animals one could only dream of. Good conditions in the campsites, excellent meals all days. Special thanks to the chef Tito for delicious wonderful dishes. We definitely recommend Suricata Safari! They are very reliable and hard-working guys!

After safari in Kenya/Rwanda/Uganda, we had the BEST safari experience in Tanzania with Gosheni Safaris and guide Bariki ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

The Safari car is very new with air conditioning, wifi, refrigerator, hot water, drinks and everything.

The guide Bariki is impeccable, we've seen all the big five and more in a few days. He drives smoothly even in muddy or floody area. He is super knowledable about animals, birds, plants & culture. We all love his personality and service. He is the STAR!

Gilbert was the best of the best guides! We called “Perfect Timing Gilbert” because he managed to to put us in place to see absolutely everything! We saw the circle of life happen right next to our jeep, we saw cheetahs, leopards, lions, rhinos, giraffes, elephants and more plus a menagerie of birds. Gilbert was engaging and answered all our questions (there were many)!

We were very happy with the selected accommodations- we chose mid-range and loved the camps the most! Had a hippo outside our tent one night and a giraffe at another camp.

We had a hot meal for lunch each day - all delicious! The entire experience was amazing and a wonderful check on our bucket list!

If you're planning a solo safari in Tanzania, I highly recommend Unlimited Expeditions – Soul of Tanzania, and specifically request James (CLH) as your guide. James is an incredibly skilled and experienced safari guide with a deep understanding of animal behavior and habits. His ability to anticipate where the animals will go and position the vehicle for the best views made my experience truly unforgettable.

Throughout the trip, James was exceptionally attentive and accommodating. He seemed to instinctively know what I needed without me saying anything, adjusting the experience on the fly to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. As a driver, he expertly navigated the terrain, always positioning the vehicle in prime spots for animal sightings, and when the animals were on the move, he knew exactly where they’d be next.

James is also a fantastic photographer. He has a great eye for capturing the perfect moments and will ensure you get the best shots. He’s always ready to help adjust your camera settings, suggest angles, or guide you on the perfect moment to snap a photo, making sure you don’t miss a single stunning shot.

His communication skills are top-notch, and he works closely with other safari guides to gather the latest information on sightings. This collaboration ensured I had the best opportunities to see incredible wildlife. His genuine passion for the animals and for sharing those moments with guests was evident in every interaction. It was clear that James takes great pride in ensuring that every safari is a personal and memorable experience.

As a solo traveler, I felt completely at ease with James. His wealth of experience, attentiveness, and deep knowledge of the animals made me feel confident that I was in capable hands. Whether you're a solo traveler or in a group, James is the guide you want for an extraordinary and personalized safari experience, complete with incredible photos to remember it all.

Look no further! This is the best tour company around. We did a custom designed trip for 17 days. My 66 year old husband and his 68 year old friend did 7days Machame route hike in Kilamanjaro. I stayed in a Chagga village near the mountain for the week and then met up with the guys for a several day safari which included Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongor Crater. We chose a leisurely itinerary as we are retired now and could take the time! We took a couple days on arrival to acclimate to the time and the altitude for my husband. And a couple days between the climb and the Safari. Every single detail from the drivers, wonderful accommodations, 3 meals a day, retrieval of a forgotten bag, adjusting the trip to our specifics interests-everything was great. Almachius was the person who I corresponded with in the months leading up to the trip and he was professional and quick to respond to my hundreds of questions. I mentioned that we were hoping to do birdwatching while on the safari. Our Safari guide, Godfrey, showed up with a Tanzanian bird book for me to use and which he didn’t need as he knew every bird in the book. He stopped repeatedly to point out the birds and was so patient to wait as we took photos. I can’t imagine doing a safari without seeing and enjoying the birds . They were truly one of the highlights!
And we were able to see all of the Big Five multiple times! We had chosen the moderate priced tour and every time we pulled up to our next accommodations, we felt there must have been a mistake because everything felt luxurious for a safari experience! Much nicer than we expected.
My husband and his friend are still raving about their Kilamanjaro guides and porters. His friend has done Kilamanjaro before and many other hikes/climbs around the world. He declared Kennedy and Julius were the best guides he had ever had.
And the whole crew was exceptional with great food and a spirit of camaraderie that they will never forget!
Thank you again to Almachius for going above and beyond to make our trip unforgettable! And to Kennedy and Julius and
Crew for guiding my husband to the summit and back done safely. They will never forget you!
This company has an excellent reputation in Tanzania from people we spoke with and we can attest to this. You will not be disappointed and will get the most value for your money with them!
