- Jill CHershey, PA22 contributionsOur guide took us here to this "shop" as part of the culture of the area. Tànzanite is only found in a few ßnall areas in Tanzania. The short tour was very interesting- to see where and how it is mined, cut, finished, etc. Our tour guide fadellala (please excuse my misspelling of name!!) was a wonderful young man. Hard to believe he was a trainee. We were welcomed warmly and there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything! Highly recommend taking the 30 minutes to visit!Written September 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FashionSpeedTravelOakland, CA182 contributionsJane Goodall has had multiple speaking engagements here- that’s an endorsement all its own.
For shoppers seeking a curated experience of the best in African artifacts, fine arts, a restaurant, entertainment, and (key for many visitors) gemstones, specifically Tanzanite, this place has it all. While there is a great selection of tanzanite jewelry, the center offers amazing value in high quality loose gemstones of any size. One can customize any setting for their gem and pick up the finished jewelry in a week.Written June 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Climbing the mountain of gods is once in a lifetime experience and if one is in lake natron region they shouldnt skip it if you love hiking or extreme adventure. The mountain asks alot of patience and its advisable to climb it with a local guide who knows the mountain and helps you as a friend. And abraham is the man for it. He helped me acheive my goal. A lot of people will talk about it being hard and not for faint hearted. But trust me. If you know you can do it. Do not read on the articles about it from others and just attempt it. Abu gave me the courage and i did it. Contact him directly and he will be of extreme help.
Asante sana abu. Until next time! 😁

Ngurudoto Crater in Arusha National Oark is beautiful, but you cannot enter it, nor are there any lions or rhino in Arusha National Park. 🤨Written January 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gerriët v1 contributionThe trip was very well organized. The lodges were nice, clean and great locations. The staff at the lodges are friendly and helpful. The parks we visited were amazing. So beautiful! We saw the big five! And so much more. All the rangers/drivers did there best to find the animals . All the drivers were friendly and we were such a great group together. I really recommend this trip and company.Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Voyager2610231 contributionWe highly recommend Augustine and his company. We had been dreaming of a safari for 5 years and are THRILLED we choose this company based on the recommendation of a friend who was a previous traveler. Each day was well paced with Augustine and driver Nickson committed to making sure we saw as many animals and animal behavior as possible. On this private safari, we had the time to wait and watch for magical things to happen, like a hippo crossing the road in front of us or elephants coming down to the water to drink. 5 star guiding from start to finish coupled with beautiful accommodations and always a concern for our safety. Being guided by a local citizen and businessman, we also learned about the country, it's history and people.Written August 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Fi RGlasgow, UK68 contributionsGuide talked you through the various snakes, where they're found, eating habits and how dangerous they are to humans. Our guide was really engaging and the info was interesting, walk around lasted about 45mins. Crocodiles and tortoises to see too. Afterwards we spent 10mins doing guided tour of the Maasai cultural museum which was the right amount of time and info, again friendly guide. $40 for 2 of us probably a bit overpriced for 1 hour entertainment but the snake park does provide free healthcare to anyone in Tanzania with a snake bite so you feel your money is going towards something worthwhile.Written October 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marie Z27 contributionsBeautifully run school over 3 campuses. Very welcomed by staff and students who “love visitors”. Such a wonderful vision by the Australian founder 22 years ago. Brightest, poorest students are given fully paid scholarships. We went to see our sponsored student graduate from her final school year however you don’t need to sponsor to see the school.Written July 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ssajjabi EArusha, Tanzania1 contributionI had an amazing experience at the Napuru falls. The hike to the falls, passing through forest park and water bare foot was really an experience to remember. I took a guide and freely paid to support him. The natural beauty of a place well preserved was worthwhile for the evening. I also enjoyed the swing when i was living the park.
I also visited the nearby Themi water fall and leisure park.Written June 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I didn’t get her name, but she deserves 5 stars! A lot of German boma history to read, natural history including a 160 year old living and breathing tortoise! Gardens, taxidermy and optional local crafts to view and buy. Well worth a visitWritten August 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karine O1 contributionJuma organised a truly great trip for our family ! he easily adapted to our requirements and last minute changes.
We stayed 11 days in the north part of Tanzania and went to different parks. Juma also recommended to visit a bushmen village as well as arts and crafts which we loved.
Samuel and Hamisi, our guides were very professional and always helpful. Their kindness will always be linked to Tanzania. They were both very good at showing animals, giving many explanations and context.

- Rochelle WBrooklyn, NY1 contributionWe just returned from a magical 10 days in Tanzania. Our family fell in love with its incredible wildlife, breathtaking beauty, and friendly people. Although we went into it thinking this was a once in a lifetime trip, and friendly people, we already want to go back! Galloping Safaris was amazing to work with from start to finish and orchestrated a safari that was even better than our wildest dreams.
From the moment we landed in the Northern Serengeti and were welcomed by baboons on the airstrip, animals were everywhere! We saw giraffes, elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, wildebeests as far as the eye can see, and even a rare black rhino – all within the first day!
From there, it just continued to get better and better. There were so many highlights that it is hard to narrow it down, but here are a few.
An epic Mara River crossing complete with crocodile attacks and wildebeest escapes. We felt like we were in the middle of a National geographic documentary!
A cheetah devouring its kill while anxiously keeping an eye out lions who might claim it for their own.
Amazing meals in the bush, with views of hippos and giraffes at breakfast, wildebeests at lunch, and a million stars including an easily visible Milk Way at dinner.
We also enjoyed gorgeous African sunrises and sunsets, fabulous accommodations, and some of the most welcoming, attentive service that we have ever experienced.
Galloping Safaris team was wonderful every step of the way. They helped us to plan the perfect trip and provided lots of pre-trip information and advice to make sure we went into the safari fully prepared.
From the moment we arrived at the Kilimanjaro Airport and were whisked to the VIP Lounge to go through immigration, everything was taken care of and well executed so we could just sit back and enjoy the safari.
And we could not have asked for a better guide than Lawrence. In addition to being an
Animal spotter and driver extraordinaire, he is patient and kind and incredibly knowledgeable not just about the animals of the Serengeti, but also about Tanzanian history, culture and politics. I don’t think there was a single question that we asked that stumped him.
Thank you to Tanzania and Walter of Galloping Safaris for a wonderful, life-changing, family adventure!
