Edson our guide and driver was extremely helpful and full of good ideas and advice. People in the office helped us to organize everything before and made the experience really good. It was just perfect, no problems encountered, really nice and helpful people and lots of great memories. Wonderful trip to Mikumi and Ruaha; many animals and other wildlife were seen up close. Thobias also explains vegetation, trees, birds, and animals in great detail. He knows so much about Tanzania, its national parks, and life in general. Everything was perfect for our 6-day private safari. Tecomate was all extremely nice, friendly and helpful, and the game drives were unmatched! We are a family of 5, with kids ages: 16, 14 and 10.
Francis and the team made it a great experience: food was amazing, team was attentive and great with the kids, as well as highly experienced. During the climb, which took 3 days, we had great time. I went for the two day manyara and Ngorongoro Crater safari and I was just blown away by the crater. We saw everything you could imagine in low season on the second day and I can't recommend them enough. Bwenje, Peter, Yona, Filician and the entire team were absolutely top notch! They got my wife and I up to Uhuru peak successfully, and took great care in looking after us despite the altitude and mild altitude sickness. Stand up tent, cots, shower, private toilet and heater a definite must to make the trek all that much more enjoyable. Would absolutely work with them again and have only the very most positive things to say about the service! It was a very nice and personal touch that Gary, the general manager, came by the Lodge the day after we got back to touch base and personally ensure that we had a truly memorable and pleasant experience. - amm02Mashpee, MA22 contributionsWe first met Justaz as our wonderful energetic Kilimanjaro guide 20 years ago. A year ago, I reached out for assistance with planning a family safari. I was so thrilled to hear he was running Daystar, a local company. He helped arrange the perfect trip, an authentic Maasai village experience, selected the best game drives for the time of year, beautiful places to stay, fantastic drivers. and a flight from the Serengeti to Zanzibar. As all trips planned a year in advance, I was really concerned about trip insurance. Justaz went out of his way to set up an option to use our credit card vs the normal bank transfer (the CC covered our trip insurance, we covered the credit card fee as is normal practice in East Africa) . Our family safari was unbelievable and affordable. We are so grateful to Justaz and his team for this amazing experience. - The person (Godfrey) will try and tell my review is fake. I have proof. Police case also registered. He may even change names.
- We booked an 8 day tour - multiple locations in Serengeti & Ngorongoro. Payments were done as he asked. He tood the money and no payments (to hotels or entry gates made). Basically, he stole our money.
- Tried to get an additional amount (40% of total cost) saying his accountant ran away with the money. Thankfully we did not pay.
- Because of this, he left us stranded at the hotel on Day 1 (with my wife and kids) - all phones switched off.
- Complete disregard for trust and empathy .
- Please pay more and go with another travel agency. Most positive reviews for this company are likely fake.

- Fiona ZAlaska8 contributionsJairos and Vienna are very responsible tour arrangers. They respond to emails quickly and they make efforts trying to meet our requirements. Food was good the whole time and they made sure we had fruits, water, and snacks every day. Our guide Ezekial was professional and very experienced. We felt safe and secured even when the road condition was rough when it rained. We learned a lot about animals from our guide and thanks for the knowledge!
Thanks again for arranging us such an unforgettable trip. Coming from the greater Seattle, WA USA area, it took us over a day and a half travel to get there. Because we're on the other half of the world, not many people that we know travel to Tanzania on safari, so we were very nervous about our trip and making sure we had everything (and making sure who we booked were real people). We are so thankful we trusted because we couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Stripes Africa Safaris is locally and individually owned by Oscar, who arranged everything for us. His local, good, and highly qualified friend Jimmy was our guide for the week since Oscar was working with exchange students. We are sooo grateful to Oscar and Jimmy! Jimmy knew exactly where to go to see unique animal experiences (like being only a couple feet from a lion who had just hunted a zebra!), he told us all about each animal we saw and heard, was able to make the animal noises himself to call some of the animals, and was able to spot a very tiny speck of an animal in the distance while driving (and then take us there). We saw 4 of the big 5 on day 1, and all kinds of special animals and birds. It was INCREDIBLE!! Jimmy honestly deserves a PhD with his 18 years of experience, Oscar as well! We loved that both Jimmy and Oscar were also excited to see and hear the animals too. We kept thinking how grateful we were that we got Jimmy as a guide (no offense to other guides!), but he really knew all the things (and people in every city) and we felt we got a better experience because of it.
We did Tarangire National Park, Ngorogoro Crater, all over Serengeti, Arusha National Park, and ended with a visit to the Chaga tribe in Materuni to see the waterfall and coffee tour.
They booked excellent hotels and lodges. We stayed 3 nights at the tented Osinon Lodges in central Serengeti where we saw elephants outside our tented cabin at night, and heard lions! Definitely a highlight of our experience.
Oscar and Jimmy went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. We had some issues with our bags through the fault of our major airline and airports that Oscar and Jimmy went out of their way to help us solve. They also communicated my dietary restrictions to the hotels and cooks. They even provided excellent binoculars in case we needed them. And also made sure we had ample access to clean washrooms or a clear and safe spot in Serengeti.
It's very clear that Oscar and Jimmy at Stripes Africa Safaris have in-depth experience and knowledge of the industry, safaris, and the animals.
The pricing was very reasonable. We heard about other experiences and met people who were paying 2-3x as much per person as we did. Their lodges weren't much better (if any better), their vehicles were the same, and their guides were probably (almost) as good as ours. So when you're considering who to book, choose Tanzania local Oscar at Stripes Africa Safaris!

Sadati and our guide Nickson went above and beyond to make our safari experience one we will never forget.
Food, accommodation and transport were excellent, and we were incredibly fortunate to get up close to many lions, leopards and cheetah and many more.
