You can never get tired of seeing the wild animals and the guide and chef were both great. Suricata makes sure you are looked after from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.

My husband and I recently visited the Materuni waterfall and Kikuletwa springs with Eli from safari soles. We had a really fantastic experience! The waterfall is incredibly impressive. Having lived in Asia for a long time, we have seen a lot of waterfalls but this has to be my favourite so far! On the way there, you can enjoy gorgeous views of Kilimanjaro too.
We also really enjoyed the cultural coffee experience on the walk back. The people working on the coffee farms were incredibly welcoming and joyful and we had a great time grinding beans and making our own coffee.
The springs have beautiful turquoise water and a rope swing if you fancy jumping in. It’s a lovely place to relax and take photos. Be aware, there are some small fish that will have a little nibble but they are harmless.
Eli is a truly fantastic guy. He is incredibly friendly and we were chatting with him the whole time! He even held my hand to help me walk over some wet rocks when I was nervous! He’s a true gentleman and he he went above and beyond to ensure we were enjoying the day. He also takes exceptional photos and videos, so make sure you give him your phone! Thank you Eli, we will be in touch when we visit Tanzania again ☺️

This was my first time taking a safari and the first time in many years joining a small organized group trip like this and I must say: Meru Slopes sets the gold standard. From the airport pickup to the early morning drop off at the bus station from the hotel at the end of the journey, rarely have I seen better service or quality than with Meru Slopes. The campsites they chose were excellent, the food cooked by Buga amazing, the itinerary executed by the excellent, knowledgable, and charismatic Stanley, and the interface, organization, and arrangement of everything from afar (and near) by Jerome were the definition of professionalism and good taste. Whoever wants to see and experience Tanzania at its very best should travel with Meru Slopes.

Had a wonderful time right from the airport pickup from Kilimanjaro airport to the final drop off when we left. Exceptional team that genuinely cares about your experience. Special shoutout to Dulla the chef and Lobulu the driver for taking care of us the entire week 😃

Myself and a few other pilots are in Arusha for a week for work, and we like to get out and explore, so we decided to book a day trip to bike to basecamp of Mt. Kilimanjaro (Mandara Hut).

We booked the trip for 4 of us, we're met in the hotel by all three people, the owner, the guide, and the driver.

After a few hours drive, we started the hike.

It was a long day, but full of amazing views, great conversation, and lots of amazing things learned hiking, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and safety from our guide Zakayo (he also goes by Zak).

Zak knew so much about everything, was happy to share and teach, and you can really tell he has passion about his home, hiking, being connected to the mountain, and a love to introduce that to other people.

He even took it a step further and taught us about the Tanzanian people, and Swahili culture.

Zack absolutely made the day, and went so far above and beyond, that that's all my friends and I could talk about on the few hours car ride back.

Side note, for those that want to do the full 7-9 day Mt. Kilimanjaro trek to the summit, trust me, Zak is your guy for this mission and you absolutely want him.

He's very knowledgeable about climate, weather, human factors such as how we're affected by elevation, and what to do should problems or issues arise.

Do check this company out, they were great, on time, communicated very well, and take a lot of pride in the service they offer.

Zak's English is great too and kept us laughing most of the time, we all need a Zak in this world!!

Our driver Gucci was awesome too.

All the best and safe travels everyone.

I chose Suricata based on the reviews from other travelers - and I am SO GLAD I did!
    Pre-trip:
*communication was prompt and professional - I had many questions & they were very responsive and kind throughout the booking process.

    During trip:
*after arriving at the joining point the night before, we met with Chuke for a briefing. Great way to start the trip!
*Our guide Damian picked us up on time at the hotel, and right away, we knew we were in good hands. He was energetic and informative and seemed to genuinely care about each member of the “team” as he called us.
*Although Damian cautioned us about the rarity of seeing some hard-to-find animals (leopard, rhino), he got us to see all Big 5 and so much more during our safari! He knows those parks like the back of his hand!
*I appreciate how Damian always kept us informed about travel times and our itinerary.
*Damian is an excellent driver. When our 4x4’s tire fell off (because those park roads are ROUGH!), Damian and the other guides quickly came to the rescue and we were back on schedule right away.
*Now let’s talk about the food. Oh, the FOOD! Salim was an extraordinary chef - each meal was fantastic! He even set the table so nicely each time - whether at the camp or on the road - and I appreciate all the little details that went into feeding us. Salim by HIMSELF is enough of a reason to go with Suricata.
*the tents and sleeping bags are very basic but sufficient. (We brought liner sheets and were glad we did.) The camp locations were TERRIFIC - how wonderful to sleep under the African stars! If you want lodges, go with lodges. For us, camping was a wonderful adventure!
*all the restrooms where we stopped were surprisingly very clean and well maintained! Bring your own toilet paper.
*Ngorongoro Crater/Rim is COLD! We were there in mid-July, but the early morning and late night temps were frigid!

    Post-trip:
*our post-safari transfer plans changed at the last minute, and Suricata was wonderfully accommodating in helping to make sure we had a smooth transition to the next part of our vacation.
*Chuke came back for post-trip briefing and welcomed our feedback about Damian, Salim, and the trip in general.

10/10! I would (and will!) recommend Suricata to anyone looking for an extraordinary and professional safari experience!

During this safari day, we had a guide who loved his job – he was both engaging and interested. Moreover, he was friendly, open to humor, and our exchanges were filled with laughter and seriousness. Hassan, thanks for this experience and your keen eye. We saw a lioness and a lion, giraffes, and elephants passing right next to our vehicle – truly incredible. Thanks, and Hakuna Matata. The local meal was fantastic.

We booked the grand safari tour as a family with our 14y old daugther and had an amazing time with our guide Freddie. He was very knowledgeable, humorous and had answers to all our many questions.

The accomodations on the trip were really nice, especially the tent camps in the Serengeti and the crater were unexpetedly luxurious.

The culinary experience was excellent throughout the trip. We even got warm lunches during the game drives, cooked by Suricata's own chef. Compared to the lunch boxes we saw with other operators, this was a really nice benefit.

Everything around the safari, like the airport pick-up, or our extended stay in Arusha was expertedly handled by Suricata and no hassle for us.
