What travelers are saying
- uj1994North America237 contributionsYou can easily spend half day here. It is huge. It is very peaceful. Take bus E02 from Zuoying station. Be there early for the bus. It gets filled up and they don't allow you to stand. Especially on return. I waited 30 minutes in line and half of the people in line had to wait for another hour for next bus in the sun. Even though it is popular place transportation options are not great. Suggest going there early in the morning so you still have time for another attraction in Kaohsiung in the afternoon. Highly recommend it.Written November 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ZimminaroundtheworldOkinawa Prefecture, Japan1,982 contributionsFo Guang Shan was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Kaohsiung. I took the bus here from Kaohsiung which was easy and hassle free. You can easily spend the whole day here at Fo Guang Shan but we spent a solid half day here. Visit the museum, Buddha statue, temples, and everything else within the Fo Guang Shan area. Everything here is truly massive and beautiful. Highly recommend!Written September 19, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

You can still walk inside the structures and access the bridge. The whole Lotus Pond area is neat with other sculptures and towers that you can see. I think it will open again next year, 2025.Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Steven SPattaya, Thailand782 contributionsLocated only one stop from Kaohsiung Main station. It also serves as an interchange between the MRT Red Line and Orange Line. There are a few shops mainly selling coffees and cakes etc which also provide tables and chairs. At night there are also vendors near exits 10 and 11 selling clothes, accessories etc.

- PaulSiowPetaling Jaya, Malaysia2,696 contributionsWe visited at night. Took the MRT to Caoya Station. Taroko park is just outside the exit. We visited at night and even in November, there were some Christmas decoration already up. Many bright and colorful lights. There was a carousel turning round and round and you can ride on the horses moving up and down on the carousel. Not many visitors though when we were there.Written October 21, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
