One of greatest heritages in Sri Lankan history. One of the best well kept fortress in ancient Ceylon. Lot of places to see & enjoy. Specially the well designed restaurants, some of the world’s best boutique hotels, shops.

Everything was really amazing the way they treat and care for the turtles is amazing, everyone was very kind, the turtles are so playful and friendly. We also got to release a bunch of babies into the sea which was an unbelievable experience! This is a must if you visit Galle or Sri Lanka in general!

It was not so interesting for the kids, but for us, it was a good and interesting walk. Interesting colonial architecture, interesting stories about the history of them and old town.

Shouldn't be the driver for a trip to Galle but it's quite nice. To the best of my knowledge you can't get in or go all the way to the top.

It’s beautiful at this beach. You can swim in the lagoon with turtles which is just amazing. Our hotel was right on this beach and we love it.

Spent a half day watching a provincial cricket match, Galle v Colombo. For only 200 rupees (£0.65) become a member, with access to the bar & restaurant and a great view of the cricket. A must for all cricket fans to be at one the famous ground in the world.

Good example of solid colonial architecutre in Galle. Reminds me of similar buildings in Manila. Nice to hide in the shades. Pity some of the restauants went bancrupt after covid lock down.

A nice clock tower. Lots of towns have clock towers, sometimes prominent, often overlooked. It's hard to miss this one, at the entrance wall to the old town overlooking the town in one direction and the cricket ground the other. It just stands there as part of the proud heritage of this wonderful small area. . Lots of towns have clock towers, sometimes prominent, often overlooked. It was amazing and you get to see the beautiful views of Galle. It felt very peaceful. They had prayers for Ukraine which touched my heart.

Just a very short tuk tuk ride from Galle, Yatagala is well worth a visit. Beautiful temple, plus a number of rock shrines. Great views and a very peaceful pool out front, full of fish and wildlife. Small entrance charge and when we visited ( admittedly a quiet time for visitor numbers) there were just two other visitors.

On the path around Galle. You will not miss it as it is nicely refreshed. Makes a nice fit to the colonial buildings in the nearby streets.

Have been to the Maritime Museum on multiple occasion and enjoyed learning facts about marine life and the ocean. Could do with some upkeep however.
