The trek was beautiful. For fitness enthusiasts, this will be an easy climb but if you’re not enthused by the idea of hiking, you can also opt in for a 4x4 Jeep or for an off-roading experience rent a dirt bike.
Even though I went in the off-season, it was super crowded.
My driver, Wira, was an absolutely lovely company, with very cute English. I was a female traveller from India and was slightly skeptical of going 2 hours away alone at 1:45 in the night but he recognised that and made me feel very comfortable. He also took me to a very nice coffee plantation was very patient, I asked to stop at a family temple for photo and he obliged without making me feel like he was getting late or anything. I liked going with him so much that I also asked him to take me to other places.

My trek Guide Made Rum, was also very nice. Being a solo traveller, he didn’t let me miss any viewpoints and enthusiastically took pictures of me.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the people and the experience:)

I had a pleasure to be guided by Darta and my driver was Gusti. Both of them were amazing! I’m a solo female traveler and was feeling extremely safe and supported at every point of the way, ascent and descent (that was tricky through Pasar Agung route). They also explained me a lot about traditions of local community, gladly answered to all my questions. I undoubtedly recommend them for Mount Agung trekking tours. Absolutely enjoyable experience!

    The views were so special!
Although we didn’t get much of a sunrise due to the cloud coverage, we still found it amazingly beautiful. Loved being above the clouds!
And the steam and steaming the eggs was super cool!
Our guide was so patient and supportive with our minimal fitness up the mountain lol
Detouring us through the jungle which we really enjoyed.
The hot springs afterwards was exactly what our body needed as well as the delicious breakfast with a view.

This was such an amazing trip that was 100% worth it. The hike itself was an experience… it was quite wet on the day so some parts were quite challenging but as long as you were in a good mindset and reasonably fit, the hike itself was good. The volcanic soil was unique and the views up the top were spectacular. Our tour guide, Yus was fantastic. He spoke very good English and had good knowledge of the volcano and its surrounding towns. He also helped guide us through the difficult sections of the climb. We were supplied with headlights and a trekking pole, both of which came in really handy. Overall, a fantastic experience that will be remembered for a long time.

It was an awesome experience! Beginning with Ady, the best driver at the island! Picked me up right on time at midnight. We started the hike around 2am and summited at 6am to see an incredible sunrise! The weather was perfect and Kaki my guide was very kind to serve me coffee on the summit 🤩 he‘s so funny and very professional! He was prepared for any situation! Luckily we didn’t need to make use of it. The way up took us 4 hours and down around two. We were really fast, normally it would take twice as long. I would definitely do it again!! Thanks bali trekking for this unforgettable adventure!

It is truly impossible to clearly articulate how absolutely amazing this adventure was for our group of six. From start to finish, the adventures more than exceeded our expectations.

Upon entering the cruise terminal, we were greeted by our driver, Youdi, who drove us safely approximately 1.5 hours to meet our tour guide, Agung, where our jungle trekking experience began.

For about 1.5 hours, we hiked, mostly downhill, to see the TwinLake. Stopping along the way, we took in many beautiful sights along with learning the history behind these sights.

My husband and I aren’t avid hikers, unlike the other four people we were trekking with, but that wasn’t a problem because Agung was patient and accommodating recognizing the abilities of all members in the group.

Once we got to the TwinLake, there were canoes waiting to take us across the lake. To say the views were breathtaking, would be an understatement. It truly was hard to capture the natural beauty in our photos. There was a temple at the end of our canoe ride where we were able to take great pictures.

Immediately following this adventure, we headed to Banyumala Waterfall. To reach the location where you enter the hiking path to the waterfall, we got to ride on mopeds…How cool!

After taking some brilliant pictures at the waterfall, we jumped into the refreshing water to cool off.

We had the most delicious dinner prepared by Agung’s family at the family home. Julia soup was our first course, and then for the main course we enjoyed homemade chicken, corn cakes, and a bean salad! The food was absolutely delicious and authentic.

We were offered coffee made from the beans grown on the family farm…such an unbelievably smooth cup of coffee! We were able to purchase a bag of beans to take home with us.

Thank you to Agung and his family for providing us with a truly incredible and authentic experience during our time in Bali.

After dinner, Youdi, our driver, took us safely back to the cruise port.

If you are looking for an adventure of a lifetime, and one that is unique and out of the box, this one is for you.

We will cherish the memories from our amazing adventures forever!

Please note insect repellent, although we didn’t encounter many insects, and trekking poles are provided.

The trip was really enjoyable. We were a group of 7 people (3 jeeps) and had a great time. The terrain was really bumpy at times but really worth it for the views and scenery.

Our drivers where really friendly and very helpful, they took us a lot of pictures and made the trip more fun.

It was a lovely hike up to Mount Batur to see the sunrise. Even though quite a lot of people are here in August, our guide picked a not so crowded route. The view was spectacular, but maybe the guides could tell the people to switch of the flashlights once your are up on the hill (our guide did). So others don‘t get blinded by the lights and could enjoy the view even more.
After the hike we relaxed at a hot spring which I can really recommend to do. The spring was located next to the lake and gave another great view.
All the time our driver Arnawa was a real help. He picked us up right a our hotel and gave us some interesting information and insights about the Mount Batur region. Needless to say he was a good and skilled driver, and we enjoyed our ride with him.

Phenomenal trip to Mount Batur, thanks to Kuas our incredible tour guide. Kuas was well prepared with head torch, walking stick, plenty of water and a really nice breakfast of warm banana sandwich, coffee and eggs which we cooked using the steam from the mountain itself. Incredible experience and a really unique component of the trip. Kuas knew all the good spots for photos and was extremely knowledgeable about the mountain and the local area. Definitely recommend this tour and ask for Kuas!

Side note - The walk itself was a little more challenging than I expected but we made pretty good time (about an hour to the top). I wore basic trainers which were just OK, but would be easier in either hiking shoes or at least trainers with stronger grip on the sole.
