What travelers are saying
- stephenCairns, Australia1 contributionWe have travelled many fast boats and prepared ourselves for a hectic journey.
The free shuttle was a car/driver with only x1 other passenger.
We were astounded when we were personally shown to check-in NO QUEUES and NO CHAOS 🙏
Instead a cafe with no queues, great coffee and pastries and plenty of free tables to relax for a short wait for the boat.
WIFI on board for free. The staff were always available with amazing smiles and welcoming.
By far the best smaller more personal and relaxing fastboat.Written August 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Deborah HarrisonKent, UK567 contributionsVery organised, a little waiting around, and sometimes a little delayed but purely due to the winds at sea, and got us underway as soon as possible.
A little difficult to understand the safety briefing, but their english is still better than my Indonisian.
Took a couple of trips with Bluewater, one from Padang Bei to Gilli Trawangan and one from Bangsal via Pandang Bai to Serangan, lovely to sit on the top deck of the boat, a little sea spray and the occasional drenching (we were warned!), but much nicer than sitting downstairs all closed in, as the views from the top of the boat were amazing.
Our land transportation was also organised, you do have to sign a disclaimer statement, but that is not a problem, and the transport was always on time waiting for you, with very friendly drivers.
When we boarded we were either given a bottle of water or mints, which was a pleasant surprise.
Beer was offered to purchase if you wished.Written June 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kapy TDarwin, Australia103 contributionsA frequent visitor to the Gili islands means I use these fast boat services quite regularly. My local contact uses the Golden Queen so that the company I’m usually on. Ok so I’ve been on many different company’s boats and this summary is equally applicable to them all. THEY ARE MOSTLY ALL THE SAME. The inside of the boats during peak seasons gets packed and the temperature is stifling. Windows seldom open and there is usually only one well used toilet on board that is most often located towards the back. Despite the boats having ‘aircon’, forget it if you think this will cool. In many cases they don’t work or are never turned on. If you chose to go upstairs smother yourself in sun cream or frankly cook. This is not a tanning location. Some boats sell Bintang but prices are high. If you are likely to be thirsty during the journey maybe get o e or two beers from the lovely local sellers before boarding. Staff are always good fun. A word of warning-don’t think the men at the wharf offering to help with your bag are being friendly…if you find someone has helped with your bag, you will need to pay to get it out of their hands. Overall Golden Queen is not bad.Written November 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SPC199114 contributionsA little late to depart and the boat goes extremely fast. Not sure if that's normal but at times, I felt a little nervous. Staff will help you get on and get off. They take your luggage. Wear sandals because your feet will get wet when arriving in Lembongan.Written July 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RyanLangley, Canada32 contributionsWe used Nacha Fast Boat as it was included in our booking at Mahigiri Resort on Nusa Lembongan. This was an overall good experience.
Departing Harbour in Sanur was only a 30k IDR ride with Blue Bird Taxi. I think if booking with Nacha independently, transfers are included but not totally sure.
Once arriving at the office. Check in was well organized, Boat was on time and our luggage was loaded and unloaded for us.
We boarded the boat in Sanur from the pier So no walking in water but in Lembongan you have to off load in knee deep water which is totally fine and comparable to all other boat companies.
The boat was comfortable, safe and lifejackets provided. We had No issues with Nacha.Written September 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's not so much the company itself that's terrible, it's the journey. All ferry companies are very similar. But we definitely got very seasick and scared. Twice the engines cut off in the middle of our journey from Nusa Penida to Gili Trawangan, leaving the boat dead in the water while the big waves shook us left and right without mercy. No idea if this is a common thing that happens but if so, we weren't informed about it.
Thr journey took us about 1hr45minutes, which is pretty quick, but for the larger part of it was an awful experience with all the seasickness symptoms that come to mind, so be prepared and take a bag of two in case you need it to throw up.
A fast ferry that left before us (different company but similar boat) were even less lucky and came to a complete stop and had to be towed in.
Next time we are most definitely flying to avoid any long ferries, or at least we'll take s bigger slow ferry that handles waves better. Never this again.
This rating mostly applies to the experience and not so much the company itself. But it just didn't feel safe.Written January 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Just think about using a backpack to avoid getting your stuff wet. Also wear something short or something you can tuck up. Also if you're older, overweight, or unfit it can be challenging to get on and off as there is NO railing to help lift yourself up. They have staff there to help but still difficult. If you're young you'll do it easy.Written February 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Sanna STallinn, Estonia34 contributionsHorrible nightmare! If you like death ride, no aircondition, no safe lifevests and waywing in the sea until you paas the sight- then this is for you. - SRKK2013Guwahati, India466 contributionsThis was a round trip organised by my hotel at Nusa Lambogan. Round trip ticket with no luggage limitation was a good buy for me. The boats are big but finding office is an issue. Marlin fast boat leaves from the counter Rocky fast boat which has good visibility. One will have to walk through water to board the boat, wear slipper for your convenience.Written April 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bethan CAuckland, New Zealand20 contributionsNear death experience. Just found out a similar company capsized the same day we travelled (Jan 2nd) with 28 people on board. You can find the footage of the rescue online.
First of all, you get told to be at the tent at 7.10am but you actually can get there at 8am for 8.15am when you’re finally allowed through into departure port area. It’s a long time waiting around. They give you a coloured lanyard but no instructions it’s a watch and learn sitch. Hundreds of people waiting and no control of port entrance. Bit of a shitshow tbh. Essentially 2 hours of waiting around in heat and humidity.
Then got on the boat and waited another 30mins in port. Smelt of fish and no air con. But having travelled multiple trips like this all over south east Asia, South America and the South Pacific I wasn’t too bothered at this point.
There were people who arrived well over an hour after us and yet we all went thru to the boat at the same time. Boat departure time said 8.10 but we left at 8.50. Takes about an hour and was ok crossing but u may not want to sit right inside front of boat if you’re prone to sea sickness.
THEN THE RETURN JOURNEY 🫣
Wind was up and swells got larger and larger as we got more into the strait. At first it was screams of laughter as people at the front of the boat were thrown out of their seats like a roller coaster. Due to fishy smell my mate and me sat at the back near the engines (4 x 250 horsepower mercury outboards for those interested). So apart from the diesel smell at least we had more space and less motion. Then about 25 mins in all hell broke loose, kids started crying, one girl was spewing and the boat staff gave her a dirty bucket, they made everyone inside close the windows as the waves were up over the top of the boat. Things were flying around and at one point a Bintang bottle fell from the drivers spot up top and smashed inches from this guys face who was next to us. One of the shards cut the worker at the back who proceeded to bleed all over the backseat with no attempt to stem the flow with a rag or towel. So now waves are crashing in into the back of the boat, mixing with blood, glass shards are swimming about on the floor and seats and no one seemed to care. The other pair sat inside and my mate and me battled it out figuring if we did capsize it’s easier to jump out the back than from inside. We are boat people too and used to rough seas but the flippant way the staff on the boat behaved and the driver seemed to be oblivious to the havoc downstairs and just sped through the swells. The good thing is the trip was kept shorter but the bad thing was we were so close to capsizing and people getting hurt. Which is exactly what happened to the other boat. Maybe rethink your trip after checking weather cos remember Bali tourist culture is to rip off tourists and make money so they’ll very rarely cancel boats due to adverse weather.Written January 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Rushed terrible island tour, road were Terrible. Lunch place was average. Only 5 minds for quick photos of the beautiful scenic beaches - not worth the extensive, uncomfortable driving. Snorkelling "office" was third world. Was well organised but I guess you need to be when you are hearding 100's of tourists around. Snorkelling was pretty good but a bit rushed. T
