We visited this place in the evening. It's a full one hour live show of old times warriors and their war heads techniques. A superb presentation of warriors using their different types of arms and fight with each other without hurting the opposite one. A great shoe don't miss it.

Wonderful experience at the elephant junction. Shreeraj a sweet talker took good care of Us . We took the Rs 1500 package which included The Elephant Ride + The Elephant Bathing + The Elephant Feeding and Pictures. Overall it was an excellent experience and felt truly blessed when our elephant named Ambika showered us with the water. This activity is a must do and not to be skipped when in Tehkaddy !

We visited around 11:00 am. First buy a entry ticket at the parking area then wait for the forest bus to pick up and then the journey starts. Once you reach the forest you have different options to visit the place either by boat or by bamboo boat or by trekking or by walk or by jeep safari. All these are different available options but all are too costly at the same time.

As the periyar tiger reserve has a very wide area of approx 350square kms. So it's very less chances that you see a tiger, so it's ok but you can see some English birds, deer and elephants, peacocks etc.

So Its like you are paying to see the tiger but what you can see that are all birds and animals you see in general easily. So not worth it.

Our visit to Philips Honey Bee Farm was an extraordinary experience, especially for the kids. Philip and his wife were exceptional hosts, giving us an insightful tour that was both educational and engaging. They explained the differences between small bee honey and regular bee honey in a way that captivated both adults and children.

One of the highlights was getting to hold the honeycomb, which was a unique and fascinating experience for all of us. The kids were thrilled and learned so much about the bees and their importance. At the end of the tour, we purchased some small bee honey for 3000 per liter and regular honey for 900 per liter. The quality of the honey is excellent and well worth the price.

Overall, Philips Honey Bee Farm is a wonderful place to visit with family. The combination of hands-on learning and the warm hospitality of Philip and his wife made it a memorable outing. Highly recommended for a fun and educational family experience!

The boat trip was pleasant enough but it was not easy to see wildlife. One of the boat operators helped us and others get some decent pics though because he knew where to look and had binoculars. Sometimes he would even use the binoculars as a zoom for our phones, and those were the best shots we got. The vegetation was pretty nice.

We heard from others that the guided walk was better than the boat ride. It's a lot longer but they saw more.

Really enjoyable! The day starts with a jeep ride through the forests. The roads were very good and we saw quite a few animals (no tiger, though). We stopped a lodge for breakfast (quite good and plentiful), then went on a 3-hour hike. We went pretty far into the forest with our guide and there were a lot of leeches. This was the only real downside to the hike. I would strongly suggest bringing leech socks or sticking to main paths when its recently rained, unless you really don't mind having 4-5 leeches crawling up your shoes at one time. I will say we were the only group who did the long trek and the only group who got leeches, so its not something everyone would have to struggle with depending on the path your guide chooses and the time of year. The nature was beautiful. Then back to the lodge for de-leeching and lunch. After a nice lunch, there's a rowboat out to a waterfall. This wasn't spectacular, but was pleasant. The jeep ride back through the forest was again really beautiful. I'm taking a star off for the leeches as that was really misable.

Even thought we visited after the main harvest season, there were plenty of plants still available to look at.
Our guide was so wonderful and really knew her stuff.

We got to smell & taste a lot of different spices/ fruits.

    Absolutely worth it!

Mullaperiyar Dam is spread across quite a large area. Nice place to relax in the cool breeze blowing across the waterbody.
