Amazing night life, very busy and no hassle from local shops. For the country this place is a tourist trap. £4 a pint, £10-£15 for a main meal depending where you go. But definitely worth a visit while you are here.
Queen Vic pub was good. £8 for burger and chips, £4 a pint.
    Loads going on.

Some street food vendors charging very cheap prices. But most the restaurants are priced like a local UK pub

The mosque is amazing looks lovely with all the lights, the shops are the same as all the others, I thought it was going to be a market but just shops, a tad disappointing.

Love the Mango marker for cosmetics, creams and snack food shopping. Staff are lovely. I did buy a genuine fake bag for about £15 which fell apart by the end of the holiday but was offered a bag of my choice any price in way of a return.

My partner and I visited here and it was... ok.
We had done most of out shopping so didn't really need to buy much. We were asked into restaurants every single time. They do not take no for an answer, I advise you to keep walking!
Be prepared for a haggle I was being charged for some wall plates triple what they were worth but eventually after 20 mins... I got them down to a reasonable price. If you have time to kill it's an alright area. Also the sellers are very clever... keep your hotel wristbands (if you are all inclusive) hidden because if you are in a more expensive hotel they up the prices...

All in all its nice to go and get out and it's worth a look but don't expect to be blown away.

Visited genena city expecting to be wowed with all the shops but unfortunately I was not. The main mall area hasn’t been designed well and seems to be more open areas and walk ways than shops. Having said that further up the road stumbled across a market/promenade which so many shops we couldn’t get round them all

Lovely gift shop, reasonably priced. One of the only shops that didn’t push you to buy. Myself and children loved Seizer the monkey. We shall return soon

I've read many positive reviews about this shop before going to Sharm and on the second day of my holiday I went there with my family.
Alex, the owner of this very neat and well organized shop, listened to me attentively while I mentioned all the problems I had due to a very long period under continuous stress. The remedies to me suggested were accompanied with detailed indications of products properties and how to use them. Then the glass bottles of essential oils have been carefully protected in bubble wrappings for their safety transportation back home, while I didn't even thought about it yet.
To me it was like going to the doctor for a consultation and prescription as Alex has clearly and promptly demonstrated his knowledge about his natural products properties and applications. He also created a personalized massage oil for me.
The quality of the products that I've received is excellent. I've started having results since the first time I've used the essential oils.
Alex not only helped me finding the remedies for my health issues, he has also given me a very good advice for my situation and has given me hope for a brighter future.
On top of that, I've received discounts and was also been gifted with other very precious products, that I didn't buy, but Alex knew that they were also very useful to enhance my condition so he did not hesitate to add them in my shopping bags.
By the way, I'm the first customer using the new personalized bags of the Store!
What more can I say about this visit to the Secret of Egipt in Soho Square.
The kindness that I have received here is beyond words.
    With unforgettable gratitude.

I saw this Spa online, early on in my holiday, and as lovely as it looked, it was a little out of my price range.
Fortunately, towards the end of my holiday, they were having a 50% off sale for 4 days, so I made enquiries and arranged to go for the Cleopatra Package the following day.
They offered transfer and I was picked up on time and with several other guests from other hotels, we were taken to the spa.
It's located past Old Egypt/The Old Market, though quite near it.
I must say, I was very impressed with the internal decor-was very unique and very well done throughout.
Unfortunately, once again, as I went through the package and payment with the guy-which ended up in a loud discussion-with him saying that my chosen package was 50 euro, instead of 40 euros. I had to get my phone out to show him my messages with the agreed price. He then went on saying that it's normally 80 euro-yes I know, and that was too expensive for me. I was there on the understanding it was 50% off. He shouted across to someone at reception, who shouted back, and says, yes, OK. Too right OK.
Anyway, that was just the start. He went through the package-The Cleopatra one-and what it would entail. I noticed that a couple of things were missing, so enquired about this-again another battle-a really relaxing start to a Spa. So, again, I had to get my phone out, show the messages that included a picture of the spa package along with a message that said 'for your info:peeling and scrub included in Cleopatra program'. I don't think the guy realised that I've done many of these spas abroad, including Egypt numerous times, and I know what to expect. He was then saying if you want that, you can get the Turkish Bath Program, with me saying that, no, the Cleopatra package includes peeling and scrub. We went round in circles-this was becoming exhausting and repetively typical of Egypt-that I clarified what was FACT and just left him to it.
Then it came to payment-another battle. I paid him £20 in English and then gave him 200egp, asking him to give me 100egp back. I was slightly paying over here, not by much tbf. Anyway, after no sign of my 100egp, I had to ask the guy for my 100egp. Once again, I had to get my phone out, put the Internet on, show him the rate ect and he reluctantly gave me MY 100egp. I really felt like asking for the £1 or so difference, but after half an hour of all this, If I wasn't in need of a Spa before, I sure was now.
Like I said earlier, the place is absolutely lovely inside, and I was enjoying looking at the interior of it all on the way to the changing rooms. The sauna and steam rooms were very good-one of the hottest I've been in, so I didn't last long in either. I then went in the Jacuzzi, which was fantastic. I would had liked to had spent a few more minutes in there, but enjoyed the 5 minutes that I got-on my own aswell 😁.
I was then taken to the turkish bath slabs, where other guests were receiving turkish baths. There were about 4/5 other guests in there, so wasn't overly busy. Surprisingly, I received a scrub. Part way through this, the guy from the beginning pipes up to me that this was a special gift to me. Erm OK......I politely smiled.
I was then taken to a different slab set on it's own where they covered me in a Coffee thing-im not a fan of Coffee, but thought I'd try something different-and it was quite nice, especially as it smelled like the aroma you get from fresh coffee beans, which I like. I was then wrapped up and relaxed for about 15 minutes. This I enjoyed. A washdown/shower followed, before being led to a massage room.
This was set up for about 5 people and several guests were already in there.
While trying to enjoy the relaxation of my massage, what started as small chitchat, turned into a social event after about ten minutes. A stern SHHHHHH put a stop to this.
The massage was good, though I've had better. It was nice and relaxing though.
I was then shown to a relaxation area-slightly awkward as the Chatter Boxes joined me. Anyway, I switched off, enjoyed a cup of tea and continued to relax.
After everything, I got changed and went back upstairs, waiting only about 5 minutes for the transfer back to my hotel. I felt absolutely lovely.
I did notice that the other guests received some kind of feedback forms-surprisingly, I didn't 😜.
Overall, this is a lovely place that I would still recommend. I wouldn't like to come here if it was busy though, as I would just imagine it becoming a conveyor belt and quite noisy. Just a shame about the continious way the majority of the Egyptians try to pull the wool over your eyes.

This shop offers a variety of handicrafts from all over Egypt. The attendants are well versed and speak English fluently.

The prices are in keeping with what you would expect to pay for unique crafts; so be pleased to know that the usual haggling with vendors is not needed.

This hotel and shopping area has suffered enormously from the Russian plane crash, then airport closure and finally COVID. If people don't start retuning it will remain a bit of a ghost town.
We stayed at the Il Mercato hotel. It was once a grand hotel, and still is to some degree. We found the staff absolutely lovely. They have 4 swimming pools, well kept and looked after.
The restaurant is probably the only let down. Pastry, salad and baker are good but the hot food let's them down. Ask your self are you getting what you paid for?
The Steakhouse nearby served us very well and there is a MC Donalds on the door step.
We did scuba diving most days with Elite Divers, who are local, so we're away all day and can't comment on the daytime entertainment

Probably the largest (?) supermarket in Sharm, Not especially impressive as Carrefours go. Located off the main road, with nothing nearby.
Has a fairly wide variety of food and homewares, also non-Egyptian items that I did not see elsewhere (I guess this is the expats' store....)
Prices were sort of OK, this can be a more pleasant shopping experience (with most things neatly set out and prices clearly marked) than other places in Sharm.
Bakery and cheeses disappointing, poor variety.
