There are many exhibits with English explanations. The videos of survivors telling their stories (subtitled) are moving and impactful. The service is personalized and with that colombian unique touch. I absolutely love this place! Also liked the fact that our guide gave all the we needed to make pictures for example at Plaza Botero where there’s a lot to see! - Julie WChicago, IL5 contributions10/10 highly recommend this experience!!!!! We had a fantastic "Barrio Transformation Tour" with Toto. It is a low cost, respectful, educational experience to learn about and interact with a neighborhood in Medellin in order to understand more about why things are the way they are here. You are welcomed by the people and see daily life in a neighborhood with a complex story. Toto met us at the train station with a local community leader, Ortenzia (sp?). She told her perspective in Spanish and he translated into English for us. It was very important to hear directly from a person who has worked so diligently with her community to be able to learn the history of the area and stories of the people. - Karen E56 contributionsWe had a great trip. We were lucky to access the desert after a very rainy spell and our driver/guide Juan was excellent. We had to do part by boat as the route was still too muddy, which added to the experience. A truly unique place and a chance to learn about a very different culture. - Jessica S1 contributionI had an amazing trek with expedition Colombia. Chris, our guide was super organized and very knowledgeable of the area. He kept us on track, together, and gave us great tips and facts about the area. He clearly cares about the land as he knows all the community members and picked up all the trash we saw. The waterfall was magical and such a fun hike. - Derek D2 contributionsAs a coffee nerd, there is no better tour out there! Andreas was an amazing host, and we truly got to participate in a "day in the life" of a local farmer and coffee guru. Between our quick pause in a small village on the way to the farm to pick up feed for his animals and snag arepas, to the many stops for various coffee tastings at local co-op's in Concordia, and surrounding areas, a day with Andreas is packed with gems.
We had a fantastic lunch prepared at his farm by the resident family, before heading to a local plantation to pick a little coffee and swing by the mill for some hands on processing. If you're interested in "green" coffee, or a coffee lover at any level, the takeaways keep coming, and you will gain a better understanding and appreciation of your daily beverage, and the coffee industry as a whole, from the Columbian perspective.
