What travelers are saying
- Traveller_OldieEast London, South Africa255 contributionsNice open area to view the ocean and the high rise buildings. In the evening the buildings are lit up and a lot of people gather to see it.Written July 25, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KMCQingdao, China31 contributionsThe old street lamps, the tree-lined avenues, the silence, and that nostalgic feeling upon seeing so many old German homes, reminds me of my time in Germany. I visit this area almost every weekend. Improvements are being made yearly, and efforts to convert derelict homes into quaint cafes have been mostly successful.Written March 19, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ROCruiserClaremont, CA4,595 contributionsThis was one of the most notable villas in Badaguan. This building can been seen from the beach and walking by for a closer look. We were told that President Chiang Kai Shek and his wife Madame Soong Mei Ling stayed there when they visited Qingdao.Written May 20, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StormyallenGympie, Australia92 contributionsBeer street is a great place to have a meal after visiting the beer museum. There are many restaurants to choose from, all selling beer of course. We were there recently (October) which is off season in China, so it was not very busy. The food we picked was good if a tad pricey, but we think the experience is worth paying a little extra for lol.Written November 1, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ROCruiserClaremont, CA4,595 contributionsI believe we were brought here by our tour guide to spend a couple of hours here and for us to look for dinner. It's a busy place but it was big and wide enough that it didn't feel crowded. We walked the whole length, found a restaurant for dinner, and then did some shopping (cell phone accessories). I enjoyed looking at the murals on the buildings. Nice way to end the day.Written May 20, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laxiaozi08200912Beijing, China1,277 contributionsBriefly visited there. It wasn't even something that really attracted me because of how strict the staff are at the university...not even all that polite, it's understandable to NOT smile all that much, but why do you act so rude and talk so demanding and condescending towards others you don't know?! Don't know how to say it.Written May 9, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- OlgaNantong, China8 contributionsThe festival is located over the golden beach, the area is large. Passage to the territory was free, but under the control measures of the coronavirus , there were many checks (QR, temperature check etc). There were relatively not a lot of people in compare with past years, fact which was very nice actually, there was no need to wait in long lines at all. Imported beer - a bottle of 0.3 liters - 30 rmb; local beer 1 l - 80 rmb and hundreds of different brands. Street food everywhere (Chinese kebabs, crayfish, see food etc). We bought 2 big lamb skewers + 1 squid for 50 rmb. I wanted German sausages and mashed potatoes, but we are in China😂. There is an entertainment program for every taste (dancing, boxing, games). There is a children's area also with attractions. In general, my husband and I liked it! If you like to combine beer and holidays then you are here, the impressions will be very good.Written August 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TeruceHong Kong, China275 contributionsIt is a famous or infamous street in Qingdao which is pretty unique in Mainland China. I have been there twice over the past few years but have never tried any beer or food there. First, the types of Qingdao I could buy from the city were not far inferior in taste and quality those sold to certain offshore nations or the 2 premium types offered to Qingdao Beer Museum paid visitors nextdoors. Second, certain eateries in the street have been reported for charging exorbitant prices for seafood dishes to foreign diners and our tour guide local to the city also warned against dining in the street as a foreign tourist. Third, enjoying beer of the same types with friends or colleagues in a proper hotel bar would appear a better idea as what to drink would not matter but who you drink and chat with would. I have also a friend who have been there for beer and he did not tell us any impressive experience of the street and only focused on the ex-colleagues' interesting stories told and a few historic sites about. So on both occasions, it only made sense to me to take a few photos before I switched to some other site of interest in Qingdao.Written January 4, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Soko37Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam3,881 contributionsVery frequent destination for tourists walking towards the lighthouse and spending time in Marina surrounded by sea and boats 🚣♀️. Place where you can enjoy local seafood 🦞, having drink 🍷, beer 🍻 or just coffee outside. Most of restaurants open during tourist season from earlier spring to late autumn 🍂. - Kseniya SIstanbul, Turkey42 contributionsIt's a pretty street, that has nothing but coffee shops and a couple of restaurants. You can find a place you like and spend a couple of hours of relax along with coffee and maybe a friend or a book. In summer most of coffeshops arrange outside tables which makes the street look like it's in Europe. If you are tired or looking for a pretty place to chat or relax, this street is place to be.Written February 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Laxiaozi08200912Beijing, China1,277 contributionsThis is an excellent road, similar to that in Harbin in Stalin Park right by Songhua River, you can take the road all the way up to another part of the city located 10km away from the start.Written April 2, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Stephen DRayleigh, UK33 contributionsInteresting street to wander along to see the different environment created by the sky painted ceilings and retro architecture. Will require only around 30 minutes, so can be combined into a walking tour of other local attractions, of which here are several. Stores clearly not making good returns, so some are closed.Written November 2, 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - michaellU6188DXKuching, Malaysia117 contributionsIt's just located about 5-8 minutes walk from May Fourth Square. A lot of restaurants you can try but i strongly recommend one of a buffet restaurant. You can eat more than 25 types of seafood which is alive besides vegetables and all kinds of meats. It only costs you less than RMB 80 and the most important thing is no time limitation. Furthermore, every single jug of beer only costs you RMB 10..Written December 19, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
