- HermanToronto, Canada519 contributionsThis is a beautiful mountain range. We took the cart and the cable car up. Even doing that we hade a good two hour walk along the path. There are some steep stairs to climb up and down. The view is breath taking. I would recommend bringing water and snacks but there are a few stores to purchase drinks and snacks.Written May 29, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Reinhard SWiener Neustadt, Austria14 contributionsIf outside the season visited a deep detailed diving in to the Chinese culture is guaranteed, you have to take some time for the Chinese architecture in all the facets and details.Written March 10, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lao GSydney, Australia26 contributionsThe Jade Buddha was interesting, a huge jade carving indeed. I had trouble getting there, the taxi took me to the Jade trading shops and supermarkets -I wasn't in that market at all, but students guided me, and then sent me by free taxi to the ticket office where of course as 70+ I didn't have to pay, but the waiting taxi took me back anyway. Hospitality was the winner this dayWritten April 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- RincewindAnshan, China180 contributionsAnshan is not an old city. The place was started in the early part of the 20th century when the Japanese set up an iron and steel mill in the area. So one would not expect much in a city museum for a new city like this. However, although Anshan city is new, the surrounding area has a long history. One hall in the museum shows off much of that early history. Another hall displays the history of the iron factory that is the major employer in the city. A third hall contains art and calligraphy while the fourth hall showcases famous people from Anshan and photographs or famous visitors to the city. Of these, the first two are of interest to foreign tourists, the latter two less so. All the exhibits are labelled in Chinese. There are English descriptions on some wall displays but not on all of the displays. Even then, the Chinese descriptions are rather basic and could be improved significantly. The museum is free to enter as long as you bring ID with you e.g. your passport.Written August 21, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - andydownunderGreater Adelaide, Australia225 contributionsLook up reviews on Qianshan. this is part of Qianshan Mountain tour for complete info. The Taoist temples are very old. The Buddhist are also old but are from India originaly whereas the Taoist are Chinese from way back. There is a bit of a walk to the Wuliang Temple but not tricky. As I said look at reviews on Qianshan.Written June 1, 2012This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LeeAnne Waddell23 contributionsWe went to visit the Bird Park and were quite impressed by the layout and the proximity of the birds. The waterfall has many water and ground birds and you can feed these after buying a bag of food for a few rmb. This made photo oppoertunites very good for my husband as he could get up close while I fed various ducks, peilcan, egrets and peacocks. The waterfall makes for a steady climb and is pleasently cool under the many trees. The bird show of 3 times a day is entertaining and viewed by many. It is included in the park fee. The souvenir shop is a bit pricy but entrance to the Birds Park was only 40yuan. The small restuarnant next to the entrance is worth a visit.Written October 8, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin BBlackburn, UK283 contributionsPersonally, I dread water parks like these. I have never enjoyed swimming and am not a fan of the notion of parading around in swimming trunks all day. However, with two young children, sometimes you have to do these things anyway, so at my wife's insistence, off we went.
The building itself is quite modern and on the outskirts of Anshan, pleasant enough as an area and with adequate parking for a comparatively quiet day such as when we went. It's a decent looking building, with a ticket office located near the main entranceway.
The entrance itself is clean and nicely styled, with Men's changing rooms to the left and Women's to the right, with a service desk and shop taking up most of the intervening space.
You are each issued with an RFID tag on a wristband which opens your lockers in the quite pleasant changing area. This is clean and well laid-out, with ample seating, well, at least there is when you go in, at close of business, when many people came out of the pool at the same time, some aisles threatened to be a little crowded.
Those little tags, by the way, also hold all your credit for use in the facility, to save you from having to carry cash, or keep flitting back to your lockers. Needless to say, this is a good thing.
Into the main area and there's a spot where you can borrow inflatables. Just scan the tag. If you return the inflatable, no charge - you are only charged if you don;t bring it back, which seems mainly fair, but I imagine that there are a few people that may take advantage of an unattended inflatable, so keep your eyes open.
Here though, there are options. Immediately to the left is a children's splash pool, with fun, but not daunting slides, water sprays and all the other things needed to make for a fun time for the little ones. It's clean, quite spacious, appealing and well thought out, plus it is well away from the hustle and bustle of the main pool.
There are routes from here that take visitors to things like a comparatively sedate tube ride, through to the usual thrilling water slides and even a zip-line across the main pool. It's the main pool, however, that will probably be the next stop.
Laid out like a beach at a lagoon (with the floor painted golden-sand yellow and blue to help the theme along... a little), one edge of the pool is fringed with wooden loungers and beach umbrellas, the perfect spot to set up your base of operations. At first I thought the umbrellas were little more than eye-candy, but as the day went on, even on a cool spring day, the greenhouse-like nature of the expansive glass roof made me see real value in them. Throughout the day, the main venue was nice and warm and the cooling water is very welcome.
The main pool is gently curved in an irregular shape, helping to carry on that lagoon feeling and most of the time the clear (we're led to believe spring) water is as calm as one would expect for a fun pool. Of course, every now and then, the wave machine is activated and that makes the place come alive.
The music is ramped up and then come the waves. At first, they are quite uniform, heading more or less straight down the pool towards the "beach", but during the (quite long) wave session, they direction and height varies significantly. Bear this in mind, as it means that even with inflatables, the waves can be challenging, so more than usual do not leave young children unattended.
After a solid morning in the pool, lunchtime rolled around and there's a good sized food court up on the third floor. Again, those wrist tags are needed as the credit runs through to there as well. I was expecting to see inflated prices and barely appealing food, but again I was pleasantly surprised.
Of course, most of the cuisine is Chinese, so don't expect burger bars or pizzas, but the prices were actually pretty much in line with the regular prices you'd face in any city in the area and the food was surprisingly good on pretty much all fronts (my wife still says the cold-noodles she had there were among some of the better ones she's had). We managed to do extremely well out of our credit and all headed back down, well fed and satisfied.
The afternoon took in much of the same for us, although my sons also opted to spend quite some time on the soft-play area on the second floor, which in generously sized and well laid-out, with some extremely nice activities.
Elsewhere, my wife and mother-in-law took in the spa pool and managed to enjoy some more sedate activities whilst I stayed with the boys whilst they soft-played and then it was back to the splash pool for us.
We didn't indulge in any of the bigger slides, although they looked good without being over-the-top. certainly, there would be no chance of running out of things to do as there were plenty of other things to engage you, even a glass-floored "walk of faith" up close to the roof, crossing the main complex.
Honestly, this was a perfectly enjoyable day for the whole family, even super-cynic me. It wasn't as crowded as I feared (note: I went on the Saturday ahead of a national holiday, so many of the schools had shuffle classes to that day, making it less of a draw for families) and it was very well thought out. Certainly, this is probably the best water-park experience I've had and the boys are already asking when they can visit again.
You know what? I won't complain if it comes sooner rather than later.Written April 12, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
