A very commercialized street loaded with shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, beautiful bronze statues, each telling their own story, and more. Nice for an evening walk after a day at the beach.

Fascinating laval tunnels formed more than 10,000 years ago, volcanic craters, dense tropical forest vegetation, beautiful wild flowers, areas of wild pineapple, many types of trees, including wild pineapple and more. A combination of beautiful scenery and odd looking volcanic shapes.

We visited Hengdian and Shanghai movie town before, therefore we thought Haikou movie town is so so only if compared with them.
Moderate space. Spend few hours here including lunch at fast food store. Still recommend every traveller to come here if you never go other movie studio before.
    Visited on August 2019.

Thought it was about time I learnt a bit more about Hainan having come as a Westerner/banana for a number of years

First things first, bring id. I was lucky my wife had a photo of my passport.

    Secondly, it’s free!

I can’t read much Chinese (most signs are in Chinese) so spent more time looking at the building which is beautiful. Would be perfect if finished, it’s a little rough around the edges but I’m just nit picking

Displays are creative with interactive ones which were good for the kids

Get there early to avoid the lines. Watch out for locals wanting to take you for tea. You will end up paying 100x the cost of the tea and leave knowing you were just screwed. Just say no to friendly locals.

It's easy to reach by local bus and the trip took less than an hour from the city. There are plenty of food stalls and eating houses to have lunch or just for a snack. The volcano park requires admissions fee but it's worth it, especially there are detailed geological description about the area. Walking up hill is not difficult even for the elderly; the trials, footpaths and staircases are well maintained, it's a safe place to go and there are well-indicated good locations to take pictures from a high level. Going to the crater is exciting but not dangerous, the staircases will lead visitors all the way to the bottom. Travelling back by bus requires paying attention to the schedule, missing the last one at around 17:00 could cause you to spend huge money calling a 'Taxi' !

Almost nobody was there when I walked through a little after 4pm. It was not worth staying. Maybe it picks up in the evening. It has a wide range of foods and there is both indoor or outdoor shared seating.
I recommend this place for anyone who is looking for variety options at a single location.
The location is great. There are many shops and mall around. Many people circulate in this region which makes the place full throughout the day.

We've been here a few times and thought I'd write a review this time

We parked the car for 3RMB on the west side of the park (bargain) before hiring a 5 seater bike (100RMB deposit, 70RMB refunded for an hour's hire) to head to the kid's areas on the east side of the park. The kids loved it and saved their energy (its a long walk/big park) for the entertainment and nagging for ice-cream... A reasonable amount of entertainment for the kids at fair prices with a few stalls for snacks

Took a leisurely loop back along the waterfront taking us up to the hour mark

Whilst it wasnt overly sunny today, there is plenty of shade

After visiting the Haian Lu night markets, we visited Baishamen Park to go on the Ferris Wheel. It 20RMB plus a 5RMB deposit on a credit card. You get great views of the north parts of Haikou. We also got a view of a massive storm sweeping in! 5 minutes after we hopped off the heavens opened and it rained harder than I’ve experienced for a long time. We would have gone on other rides like a mini roller coaster, but everything shut down. There’s more to the park than the amusement rides, but we didn’t see that.

Took a long ride to reach there and was disappointed by how little one can do there. Took the 30 min boat ride and it gets boring after awhile. I was hoping i can see wildlife like crabs but alas did not. The museum in the carpark was closed, unsure if is for good or because is the off peak season. Wanted to go for seafood at the village restaurant opposite the jetty but because we ended off at after lunch time like around 2 pm, the restaurant has closed for noon nap.

I only spent time at T2, which is an international arrivals and departures. I flew in and out via Hongkong.

It’s small but my gate number was 102! Don’t panic, it’s only two gates away once you passed security.

Lounges: there’s an immediate VIP lounge to your left after the security and seems to be closed. But if you were a Priority Pass holder like me, look for the exact name of the lounge shown on your PriorityPass App, and it’s only about 30 feet further down to your left. Follow the sign and take the elevator up. Small lounge but good food. Alcohol wise, only beers.

Note on airport transfers: I stayed at the Sheraton Haikuo. The hotel does not provide airport transfer that I know of. I went by taxi, which is about 40-min ride from the airport.

Going back to the airport is the same way. Very nice bell service to get a taxi for me. Wait time about 5min.

IMPORTANT: taxis don’t take credit cards! They take cash or WeChat, so be prepared. It costs about 130 to 160 CNY one way.

Airport here does not take mobile boarding passes yet. So always get a printed one.

    Safe travels.

Six kilometres of beautiful, sandy beach, with shallow, calm, clear-blue waters. A wonderful vacation spot.

This park is quite nice with people jogging even in the afternoon. One end has many table tennis tables with young people having great fun. Across the main road leads to Shopping Malls. The other end is a pond with a lovely bridge heading back to Qilou Old Street.

Ten of thousands coconuts trees surrounded my dads hometown,
I ask the driver did they need to plant the trees, his answer is no need to do that, because each coconut fall from the tree they will grow and become another tree, it’s was a beautiful place.
