We very much enjoyed our visit to the Angkor Museum. It provides a chance to view a range of sculptures and gain more understanding of the temple. I think we were able to appreciate this well because we had a guided tour. The building itself is nicely done and the gift shop was great--lots of unique products.

Impressive to see all those old massive machine still standing there, the mines house is the most interesting with some of the little exhibits on the side. The place was not crowded at all. So we could easily walk around. The kids liked it to stand behind the machine.

One section of the Angkor Panorama Museum is very much worth visiting. Panorama Hall is a dome-like structure with a viewing platform at its centre. From there you can take in three scenes titled 'Defence Strategy', 'Construction Strategy', and 'Prosperity.'

The three-dimensional illusion created here is the most impressive I’ve seen anywhere requiring only the naked eye. At certain points, it really feels as if you’re gazing miles off into the distance.

The attention to detail is striking and with a good guide, as I was provided with, much can be learned. One scene depicts Khmers, under Jayavarman VII (then just a General) retaking their capital from the Chams in 1181. It had been captured four years earlier.

The movie was melodramatic but somewhat instructive and the maps at the entrance were helpful as well. But the Panorama Hall is the best section by far, in my view.

This is a lovely little museum that does not get a lot of foot-traffic. It is focused on Cambodian civilizations and contains many items that have been unearthed by various excavation efforts. The items on display are quite diverse. I had a guide that did a great job explaining the various items in the museum.

I stumbled upon this museum while exploring Siem Reap, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. The museum is a treasure trove of antiques! From ancient motorcycles, bikes, clocks, cameras, and musical instruments to traditional jewelry, every piece tells a fascinating story about human ingenuity.

The collection of motorcycles and cameras is incredible, perfect for enthusiasts. It’s amazing to see how the design of cameras has evolved over the years while still retaining some classic elements.

What intrigued me the most is that the owner personally collected and takes care of all these items. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Siem Reap.

Oh! And the entrance fee is just 10,000 riel, which is about $2.50 USD.
