Our favourite experience in Siem Reap. Ducky was professional, knowledgeable and fun. It was a bit like visiting your friend who moved abroad and them introducing you to their favourite spots in town. We learned about Cambodian produce whilst exploring the market and ate delicious food along the way. Both on planned stops but also just tasting things that caught our eye along the way. There were also a couple of surprises that were much enjoyed, especially by our 8 year old son. Highly recommended. Make sure to book this at the beginning of your trip. It will open your eyes to Cambodian cuisine and you might enjoy it so much that you book an evening tour as well. Thank you, Ducky!

Our guide, Nil, picked us up from our hotel in a tuk tuk, then we were driven to two different night markets and one cafe/shop. We tried and tasted so many different delicious things! Fruits plucked straight of baskets, fried insects, sweets, liqueurs, biscuits, and then a tapas style dinner of savoury pancakes, fish cakes, fried coconut balls, and curried noodle soup. Nil was a fountain of knowledge and we really enjoyed spending time with her and hearing about Khmer food and culture! She was personable, spoke excellent English and her engaging conversation made the tour special. A must-do on your first night in Siem Reap!

Although this is described as a ‘private tour’ we assumed, wrongly, that it would be a small group tour but it was, in fact, just the two of us and the guide. Personally I would have preferred it to be a small group as I think it would have been more fun and interactive than just me and my husband walking around and eating with a complete stranger young enough to be our son, as lovely as he was! We were told we would have some local street food and then go on and have some food at a tourist restaurant so we held back on the street food thinking we were going on somewhere else but as it turned out we didn’t. We suggested stopping in Pub Street on our way back but no further food was offered and when we stopped at a bar we paid for the beers, even though the tour description says local beer is included (we hadn’t been offered a beer with the street food). The description also says you are taken to Angchek Angchom Shrine which I had been looking forward to, but we weren’t (and to be honest I had completely forgotten about it until I reread the tour description when we got back) so was subsequently pretty disappointed about that too.

Our guide was a lovely guy but the tour just didn’t deliver what was promised and proved to be a rather expensive night out in a place where it’s generally pretty cheap to eat out.

The tour visits a street market away from the main tourist areas. Our Guide was very knowledgable and spoke good English. All the food we tasted was explained and was very good.
    Highly recommended

This tour gave us the full experience we were looking for. Sam brought us to a street market that we probably would never have gone to on our own. It was such a cool experience to try all these new foods I never even knew existed. We even tried bugs and although it may sound weird fro some people this is the type of experience we wanted. We’re huge fans of Anthony Bourdain and this was one of the places he visited so we just had to stop and check it out for ourselves. Our guide was very knowledgeable and professional. Plus he had a great personality. Highly recommend for everyone!

Although I was the first to join since covid has happened, this food tour is still of high quality and beyond my expectation. We had local and authentic food in hidden gems. Silong (our super friendly guide) also brought us to explore and walk in a local village, which is a precious experience. Both Silong and our driver are super nice

This tour was one of my highlights of our visit to Siem Reap and I rate it as a must do for anyone willing to go all in and sample the exotic local delicacies. I loved the fried crickets and the fruit so much I am surprised I could eat the meal at the restaurant. Our local guide Vanlonh did an excellent job ensuring we ate only at health street food vendors and relating the local experience to what we eat. If I had more time at Siem reap I would defiantly look him up and do another tour with Green Era Travel,
