- f sMuscat, Oman14 contributionsYou can book and go to the top. Its worth it in the sense that you get this experience rarely - considering this is the tallest building. So may be once in a life time. Once you are at the top, you can take some selfies etc. Official pics and souvenirs are expensive. - CKewSingapore35 contributionsIf I could only give one advice, I would say go early if you can! The park opens at 10am. We were there early so there wasn’t any queue for all the activities! It started to get very crowded after 1pm and looked chaotic. We were glad we came early :)
The coldness is manageable, no need for long johns underneath. Just a sweater or hoodie underneath the thermal wear provided will be ok. I think because there’s no wind so you don’t feel that cold. This is coming from a family who had never live in a temperate country.
The chairlift takes you to the top of the slope (exciting!) and brings you back down if you don’t ski . It’s just surreal that outside the slope structure is 40C and inside is -4C!
My boys took the discovery lesson and they enjoyed it. Only the two of them to one instructor in their time slot, so they were able to ski down the gentle slope many times!
The online booking system only allows those 12 & under to be in the children learning group. The on-site staff allowed my 14yo to be in the children group. The adult group had more people so not as fun. Visiting the park in June was not really a bad idea ( because the park was almost empty and there were no queues ), the negative and disappointing side of this visit was not only the weather which was really hot but also the closing of almost all the outdoor shops and restaurants .
I, personally enjoyed the dream works section the most due to the fact that all the rides were indoor with great air conditioning but the experience at the Columbia part was also incredible .

The track has shorter and longer options; in general quite busy. You can see desert animals on the track if you are lucky. - FRANCIS PColorado Springs, CO617 contributionsWe wanted to see the races and were impressed. We were lucky as 5 countries were on hand for the races. There must have been 1000+ camels. We went to the stands which had close circuit TV's so you could watch the whole race as it is quite long. There were free soft drinks and snacks. There were only a couple other people in the stands. Then we went over to the other section and mingled with the camels and handlers. Everyone was friendly and it was one of the best things we did in Dubai. A must do if in Dubai.
