Our visit to The Dubai Fountain with my family was a mesmerizing experience that left us all in awe. Located right next to the Burj Khalifa and The Dubai Mall, the fountain show felt like the perfect way to cap off our day of exploring the area.

As evening fell, we found a great spot near the waterfront, and the anticipation built as more people gathered. When the show started, the synchronized water jets shot up into the sky, moving in perfect harmony with the music. The fountain's graceful movements, combined with vibrant lights, created a truly magical atmosphere. My kids were captivated by the way the water danced in time with the music—it was as if the fountain had come alive.

What made the experience even more special was how different each performance felt. We stayed to watch multiple shows, each set to a different song, ranging from classical to contemporary. The variety kept everyone entertained, and the shows were short enough that even my younger children stayed engaged without losing interest.

The setting itself, with the Burj Khalifa illuminated in the background, added to the overall spectacle. The combination of Dubai’s modern skyline, the fountain’s beauty, and the vibrant energy of the crowd made for an unforgettable evening.

Watching The Dubai Fountain with my family was a highlight of our trip, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dubai. It’s free, family-friendly, and offers a stunning experience that captures the magic of the city.

Visiting The Dubai Mall with my family was an incredible experience, filled with excitement, variety, and activities for all ages. As one of the largest shopping malls in the world, it offered much more than just shopping—it was a complete entertainment destination.

The sheer size of the mall was awe-inspiring. We started by exploring some of the most popular attractions. The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo was a highlight for my children. Walking through the underwater tunnel surrounded by marine life was like stepping into another world. They were fascinated by the sharks, rays, and colorful fish swimming above and around us. The zoo section, featuring penguins and other animals, was equally engaging.

Next, we visited the Dubai Ice Rink, where my kids enjoyed skating. It was a fun break from the shopping and a great way to cool off from the Dubai heat. The rink is spacious, and even for beginners, it’s a great family-friendly activity.

Of course, the mall’s shopping options were endless, with everything from luxury brands to local souvenirs. We spent time browsing and picking up gifts. The range of stores ensured that everyone in the family found something they liked.

The Dubai Fountain outside the mall was a stunning end to our visit. We watched the fountain show in the evening, set to music, which was a magical experience for the whole family. It was a relaxing way to wind down after a day full of excitement.

The Dubai Mall exceeded our expectations, providing a perfect blend of entertainment, shopping, and dining. It’s a must-visit for families traveling to Dubai, offering something for everyone in a truly spectacular setting.

If you’re reading this you are either already in Dubai or considering visiting Dubai… Be under no illusion that Dubai beaches are not a patch on natural European beaches, no matter how much faking they do. Taking that into account Kite beach is certainly one of the better beaches in Dubai, with no high rises, clean toilet, shower & changing facilities along with a variety of pop up eateries.

Beach is clean and we found the water to be slightly cooler here than it is at JBR beach for example. life guards on duty.

What a great place and as a family we love to revisit each time we visit Dubai. The people within the souk are so friendly and accommodating, and don’t get put off with a little hard selling, it adds to the charm and is as found in other market venues. A simple ‘No thank you’ is sufficient and respected. Great selection of items to buy or consume and you can get lost for a while within the rabbit warren around the beautifully maintained facility.

Having stayed with Jumeriah Hotels a number of times we love the spirit, generosity and quality provided from the Group, however my only criticism on this visit was the fact that they’re now charging 100AED (£20) per person to travel on the Abras around the facility … a little steep for a family of 4 to take a quick trip along the water course, which could do with a little tidy. Unfortunately the only thing we didn’t get to enjoy on this journey to Dubai.

All in all a wonderful place and certainly worth the visit.

Dubai Marina is a vibrant and upscale district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It features a man-made canal city with a waterfront lined by high-rise residential and commercial buildings. The Marina is known for its luxurious lifestyle, with attractions such as the Marina Walk—a promenade offering shops, restaurants, and cafes—and the Marina Mall. It’s also home to various attractions like the Dubai Marina Yacht Club and offers stunning views of the city’s skyline. The area is a popular destination for both residents and tourists seeking entertainment and relaxation.

Located in the heart of Dubai's upscale Jumeirah district, Jumeirah Public Beach offers a unique beach experience against the backdrop of the iconic Burj Al Arab. the views of the azure waters and the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab in the distance is breathtaking. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, attracting both tourists and locals alike seeking a serene escape amidst the city's hustle and bustle. The beach is well-equipped with facilities to ensure a comfortable visit. Water sports enthusiasts can indulge in jet skiing, paddleboarding, and parasailing, while families can enjoy building sandcastles or taking leisurely strolls along the shoreline. The beach is also popular for evening walks as the sun sets, creating a picturesque backdrop for romantic outings.

Visited Dubai for the first time solo travelling, enjoying the stunning beaches and amazing architecture, the marina beach was situated a stones throw away from my hotel, and was clean, safe and beautiful! I will add if you’re a male make sure when leaving the beach area to put a top back on I made the mistake of leaving with no top on to walk back to my hotel and was stopped by security to put it back on. They’re strict on laws but that gives you a feeling of security.

It is of the oldest malls in Dubai. I once visited this place 15 years ago, since then it has changed a lot. The one thing that has remained is the large ship and water fountain. My favourite part of the mall is the huge dome in the middle, surrounded by coffee shops.

We stayed on the Palm during a recent visit and it is an absolute engineering marvel - a fantastic destination which is worth a visit to understand the sheer scale of things (best appreciated by an aerial view)

We were surprised however at how poorly connected it is via public transport. From where we were staying on the Palm, the public transport option involved a not inconsiderable walk to the monorail, which connects with a tram, which then connects with the main metro line. It really was a faff and so we chose either to get a taxi straight to downtown or take a taxi to the nearest metro station which wasn't particularly close.

We ended up spending a fortune on taxis because of this - given how good the general infrastructure is in Dubai we were surprised at just how isolated one of its main attractions, was.

An evening in the fifteenth century.

Dubai, a symbol of innovation and human progress, is filled with modern marvels. Yet, amidst this contemporary landscape, Al Seef Street in the Al Fahidi neighbourhood offers a journey back to old Arabia. Stretching along the banks of Dubai Creek for one and a half kilometres, the street is divided into two parts.

One side reflects modern life, with stylish restaurants and contemporary buildings, while the other side beautifully captures traditional Arabic culture and architecture. As you walk between these sections, it feels like stepping back four hundred years in time.

Here, you'll find buildings made of sand, lime, and stone, narrow mud-brick streets, and weathered wooden doors. Palm bark canopies shade the entrances to homes, ancient fishing nets hang nearby, and the soft glow of lanterns enhances the historic atmosphere. Among these settings, you’ll also discover various restaurants, including a Starbucks Cafe, designed in the traditional style.
I spend my evening here whenever I get time, it is one of my favorite places in Dubai.

This is a stunning indoor-outdoor mall centrally located in Dubai.

There is a great cinema (Roxy), lots of food and beverage outlets, including a dedicated licensed area (C2), indoor rainforest (Green Planet), regular live entertainment and more.

The retail offering has improved recently with lots of new openings.

I booked the 3hr+ voyage seeing the sights of Dubai. I found Optimal Yachts randomly on Facebook while searching Dubai. I visited with 8 friends all couples and we went for voyage to sit back and chill and take in the sights….. Wow doesn’t cut it, the Yacht was absolutely stunning, having never been to Dubai before or having been on a yacht we were all blown away it was beautiful. The staff were also amazing and really knowledgeable. I initially messaged Optimal Yachts on Facebook and then gave them a call to confirm dates and got through to Leighton. What a guy he is so full of positive energy he delivered what he said was included and even chucked in an extra bottle. The tour was about 3.5hrs and the crew were kind enough to allow us to snorkel and take photos. If you’re looking for things to do in Dubai then I highly recommend giving Optimal Yachts a call and asking for Leighton. He didn’t only look after us with the yacht but we also booked some Jet Ski’s through him too. He suggested places to eat, he recommended some nice bars and clubs and some amazing restaurants he couldn’t help us enough. If we go back next year we will definitely book a fishing trip amazing memories.

This is a large and well stocked mall with a great location.

The outside area offers a great view to downtown Dubai and daily fountain show.

Inside is a wide range of shops and excellent food and beverage outlets. There is also a large Carrefour and IKEA, together with lots of entertainment options.

The mall is easily accessible by car and there is plenty of parking.
