- Alex SicoCalgary, Canada402 contributionsI spent the day at Al Qudra Cycling Path with two friends, and it was an incredible experience. We brought our own bikes, ready to take on the Blue Path (49 km). We started around 3 PM and wrapped up around 6 PM, taking a few breaks along the way.
The path itself is perfect, smooth asphalt, well-maintained, and with just the right amount of turns and elevation changes to keep things interesting. The desert views make the ride feel peaceful, and since there are farms nearby, we even spotted a few animals, which was a cool surprise.
One thing that fell a bit short of expectations was the lack of drink stations. While there are shaded rest stops, there’s nowhere to grab water along the way, which would’ve been nice for a long ride. But the food truck setup at the parking lot made up for it, it was great to have a spot to grab a bite after the ride.
Overall, Al Qudra is an awesome place for cycling, whether you’re serious about it or just out for a fun ride. Just few minutes away from downtown, there is two routes to choose from - 2KM or 9KM. Rent bike, neither you like to relax in the night ride or do some good training. Truly recommend. Loved the night ride, were is quiet, peaceful, sky full of stars to enjoy the ride Thank you P.s.
