The architecture of the museum is stunning.
Staff are very friendly. The exhibits within the museum while very interesting are very few. So this museum will probably not take more than an hour. But considering the relatively cheap tickets of 25 Dirhams, it's a good value for money

The museum is stunning. It’s very nicely laid out and there are people to direct you every step of the way even though it’s mostly self-guided. Clearly a lot of thought and planning went into it and it was really eye-opening and educational. I would plan for at least 3 hours to view all the pavilions. The restored historic houses were one of my favourite aspects of it although there were a lot of interactive and participatory elements as well. It’s definitely definitely worth the trip. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable as well, particularly in the jewellery section.

Created in 1997 after most of traditional Dubai had already been demolished to make way for skyscrapers and modern apartment blocks. The heritage village is not like Disney land, but sometimes feels a bit like it. The purpose of the place is to acquaint foreign visitors with old traditions of Dubai (what kind of food people ate, the boats they built, pottery they made, in what kind of houses or shelters they lived, their cultural expression etc.).

Worth a visit if you are interested in what Dubai was like before the big transition.

Located north of Ghubaiba metro station along the creek.

Opened in 2013, the items on display in this 3-building museum complex are actually the personal collection of Ahmed Obeid Al Mansoori. The displays range widely from Alexander the Great artifacts to an excellent multi-room exhibit on the holocaust and different religions. Outside displays include a bedouin tent and Jewish succah. Additional displays include the local area, finding pearls, the golden Koran to cite a small sampling. Interested in weaponry, old atlases, or letters to and from Napoleon? This museum has it all.

We visited the museum today. On a very hot day the air con was a blessing whilst viewing artefacts. Not a huge museum but interesting and informative, it took us about 45mins. There is a gift shop but we didn't visit.

Especially for those who remember the old Trucial States stamps -- issued in large quantities in decades past, a visit to the Philately museum in the Fahidi district is well worthwhile.
