- What’s one thing visitors shouldn't miss? The JBR Walk is a must-do. It’s a beautiful mix of modern Dubai architecture blended with a stunning beachfront looking out to the Arabian Sea. The iconic Ain Dubai Wheel is in prime view from the JBR Walk. The area is lined with fine restaurants, hotels, beach activities and much more. It is an ideal place for a tourist to stay and enjoy the finer qualities of Dubai.
- What do you wish tourists knew about Dubai? The areas around the Dubai Museum and Meena Bazaar in Bur Dubai are lined with affordable but great-tasting eateries of all cuisines that are well worth a visit.
- Let us in on your favorite restaurants—what makes them great? The Karachi Darbaar in Deira serves excellent Pakistani food in a traditional rustic setting. The food is delicious, authentic, and priced affordably. The Arabian Tea House Restaurant & Cafe - Al Fahadi in Bur Dubai serves beautiful Middle Eastern and Emirati food in a classic setting and is very Instagrammable.
- Are there any activities that are better done on weekends vs. weekdays?Weekends are very busy at the malls and beach areas—better to go see them on weekdays.
- Which top tourist attraction is worth the hype? The Burj Khalifa is Dubai's most iconic attraction and boasts many world records. It has a unique and most beautiful structure and the view from the top is breathtaking. The Burj Khalifa is surrounded by other iconic and world-class attractions too.
- Why is Dubai special to you?I have been visiting Dubai since 1986 and have lived in Dubai for several decades.

- stevenjbCambridge, UK251 contributionsWe visited on a Saturday morning and had a great experience. We queued for about ten minutes for the lift but after this it was all pretty swift with the rest of the experience.
The lift journey (was quite cramped) but was pretty spectacular, lifting you to floor 124 in approximately a minute.
Once at the top, the views are amazing and give you a sense of just how far Dubai has come in such a short space of time. I would love to come back in a few years and do this again to see how much it has changed.
The observation decks were spacious and you never felt like you couldn’t get close to the windows for a great view. Yes, sometimes you might need to wait for certain areas but nothing excessive.
For me, no first visit to Dubai would be complete without a trip to the Burj Khalifa. The engineering and design make this a modern global icon.Written March 20, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. As the world’s largest choreographed fountain system, it dazzles visitors with its mesmerizing performances, where jets of water soar up to 500 feet, dancing in perfect harmony to an array of global and Arabic melodies. Illuminated by over 6,000 lights, the fountain’s vibrant displays create a magical ambiance that captivates audiences every evening. Whether viewed from the waterfront promenade or aboard a traditional abra boat, the Dubai Fountain is an unforgettable experience that embodies the city’s grandeur.Written March 21, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Frances W2 contributionsHuge mall but expensive - not too many places to eat and no great food court as in most malls anywhere. Cafes and restaurants are scattered around Starbucks has 8 - eight! venues. There are lots of Concierges who are available to direct you to whatever store or attraction you want - but be prepared to walk and walk and walk… On the ground floor of course is the entrance to the Burj Khalifa - check with one of the concierges who are near the check in counter before you line up in the wrong line and waste a lot of time before you are told which line to get in depending on what ticket you buy - Premium ticket is by far the best. I was surprised that the mall had many of the mainline stores from other countries such as in UK and Canada and the States. Make sure you get a mall directory brochure - that really helped us find our way around. Also, most taxis aren’t allowed to drop off in front of the mall - so you have to make sure to get the right taxi - we got left outside a hotel initially and didn’t know to make sure the driver wasn’t just dumping us off. Didn’t happen twice!Written March 18, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Janea M1 contributionBurj Al Arab is an incredible hotel and a true symbol of Dubai. The design is unique, and the level of luxury is amazing. From the moment you arrive, the service is excellent, and everything feels exclusive.
The interior is beautifully decorated with gold and marble, and the views of the sea and city are breathtaking. The restaurants offer delicious food, and the atmosphere is perfect for a special experience.
Even if you don’t stay at the hotel, visiting for afternoon tea or dinner is worth it. A must-visit place in Dubai!Written March 2, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
