I read this Gallery had more than Croatian art, and at the admission of €3 (students & retirees) I saw little to lose. Situated in the old hospital, it is a rather large collection spread out over the labyrinthine upper floor. Quite a collection from pre-Renaissance to post-moderns. The Dürer was out on loan. While lots of Croatian art, there were interesting pieces to see.
The temporary exhibits on the first floor had a few items of interest, including a rather odd video that drew our attention. The Acropolis monuments illuminated behind a naked woman draped with the EU flag, singing Beethoven's Ode to Joy, while a man below her used blue paint to cover over the stars one-by-one. Gildo Bavčević: EU Sleeping, 2015.
The rest of the photos on this level were rather grim.
Recommended for an hour's walk through this sparsely attended museum.
